Interaction with guests

I give my guests space but am available when needed. I am often not in DC since I travel a lot, but my lovely daughter will do her best to assist you with everything during your stay.

Other things to note

The room is not too quiet because my place is right next to the road and metro and near downtown, but that's what makes it a safe place for female travelers. However, if you are a very light sleeper, you may need to consider if you can accept a bit noises at night. Overall, the location and the price are wonderful.

I didn't get to meet Stella because she was abroad, but her daughter Margaret is very sweet and makes you feel welcome (we spent two hours talking after I arrived). The convention center and most of DC's major hotels are within a 5 block radius, so it's wonderfully located if you're in town for a conference. It is a bit noisy at night, so if you're a light sleeper, I'd take that into account. Nonetheless, I highly recommend staying here and would book with Stella and Margaret again!

I recently stayed at Stella's apartment for a conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The apartment is a minute dash to the convention center and close to several metro lines, making it incredibly convenient. It's in walking distance to great coffee (Compass, La Colombe), tons of restaurants, and great shops. If the weather is nice, it's not unreasonable to walk to the Washington Monument and many Smithsonian museums. Stella and her daughter are the most lovely and gracious hosts! The apartment was very clean, the bed was really comfortable, and they had yogurt, cereal, juice, and coffee available for breakfast. 100% recommend staying here!

If you are attending a conference in the Walter E Convention Center this is the perfect place to be. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the convention center and conveniently close to downtown/Chinatown. This place has the basics you need for a place to lay your head at the end of your day. I would recommend to any business traveler.

Stella's place is extremely well located, literally 5 seconds from the underground station (Mt Vernon Square). You'll be sharing the place with her daughter Margaret, who's both very interesting to talk to but discrete at the same time, and mindful of your privacy. I would highly recommend the place for anyone looking for a comfy and convenient home to spend time in DC!

Stella was away but her lovely daughter Margaret was around and was a perfect host. However, Stella did message me a few times to make sure everything is well, which I appreciated. Everything was very neat and clean, and Margaret was great with communicating. Ear plugs are a must, since the apartment is on the main road across from metro stop. I slept really well. There are some questionable individuals walking around but it felt safe during the day, and I didn't go out at night. I will definitely stay here again if I need a place to stay in the city.

Stella User ProfileStella is a superhost.

My husband is French, and I have traveled to many countries in Europe and Asia before and after I retired from being a businesswoman. A mother of three. I've got a home in DC for my daughter but now I'm still traveling a lot. Chances never come again, so we should appreciate everything and everyone we meet, right? That's why I love traveling - Always many new encounters. Let's live our only-one-time life to the fullest.
