About this listing
Welcome to our home for hackers, academics, and entrepreneurs!
Dvaraka is a living space strategically designed to accommodate the needs of a diverse community. It's named after the legendary city of the same name.
The dorm is carefully engineered to help people find their own space. You will stay in one of our two bedrooms, either a snoring room and a non-snoring room.
Dvaraka provides a beautiful expansive living room, a private nook for teleconferences, and a full kitchen for the community.
Residents have access to all the common areas at all times.
Start your stay with us by checking in. We check in guests each day between 5 pm and 7 pm.
Interaction with guests
Community is central to Dvaraka. Our residents from around the globe meet and share stories in our social spaces. We organize semi-weekly community events for residents and alumni like trips to San Francisco, movie nights, and participating in hackathons and charities. There are even more events at our main campus in Mountain View! Our residential advisers often help residents to explore the area, discover meetups, and to build professional opportunities.
Other things to note
Dvaraka is a safe space that welcomes people over 18 regardless of age, gender identity, race, nationality, sexual orientation, country of origin, disability, or education.

We are Radio Eden and Alliance Dvaraka, two happy independent dormitories. Each provide flexible communal living, particularly for short term residents like interns, exchange students, consultants, etc.
Our RAs based at Radio Eden (Mountain View) are Katy, Eric, and Derrick.
Srikanth is the RA for Dvaraka (Palo Alto), though he often gets backup from the Radio Eden RAs.
Katy is the house head of Radio Eden. She is a former NASA roboticist, Xoogler, and a jack of all trades. She helped run Hacker Dojo during its more community-centrered phase. Eden is the 9th communal house she has helped run. She likes video games, PJs, and her husband named Cliff who is not part of the company but also lives on campus. Cliff is a graphics programmer at an independent game studio. He likes the 80's, things which go "boom," and Jeeps.
Eric is an RA based at Radio Eden. He is a physicist, mathematician and former grad student. Eric moved in to Stonehenge in March 2015 to finish a paper he wished to write independently outside of grad school. He helps with strategy, logistics, and focusing on what is highest impact to the resident's happiness and the dorm's overall health. He likes philosophy, movies, books of every kind, and being right.
Derrick is an RA based at Radio Eden, but currently at Alliance Dvaraka to finish Srikanth's training. Derrick started as an economist but since then has spent a lot of time studying math, languages, literature, programming, machine learning and playing Marth in SSBM. He has been intermittently with the crew since 2013, and now focuses on logistics. He likes anime, ironing, neoclassical music, and extremely specific lightbulbs.
Srikanth is the house head for Alliance Dvaraka. He is a physicist turned programmer who now works in international immigration. Srikanth met the group because he went to college with Eric. He likes meeting people, art, EDM, board games, Burning Man, and generally being an extrovert.
Taiyo 社長 (pronounced Taiyo Shachō) (English: President Taiyo) is the landlord's cat who lives with us. He is huge, grey, and while he often does visit with the residents outdoors, the only indoor place he is permitted is the RA's unit as many residents have allergies. When not overseeing the company and our guests, he studies ornithology and applied optics. Eric also keeps a golden knee tarantula named Dash in a tightly-closed container. Dash was a surprise gift from his brother, makes Eric incredibly happy, and is never permitted outside of the RA's unit.
Shared hobbies of all the RAs include Super Smash Brothers Melee, casual philosophy podcasts, media from different time periods, trying to be decent programmers, anime and cooking, though we each have individual tastes.
