The space

Perfectly sized one bedroom apt overlooking Lake Union. Amazing east-facing sunrise view of mountains & lake. Full herb garden (while it lasts) & well-appointed kitchen for cooking & baking during your stay. Well-stocked urban pantry full of handmade preserves, too! Everything in the pantry is whole food, organic and handmade and you're welcome to cook something up for yourself whilst here - no need to go grocery shopping for basics during your stay.

Queen bed with organic cotton sheets. Apartment has wifi, HBO, ROKU or APPLE TV + local cable TV & a small desk with monitor for a multi-mon hook up (fitted with a thunderbolt for Macs). Includes all the comforts of home, an awesome cookbook collection AND a piano.

New wool flannel couch with down fill - you can see in the pics - it's the gray one, not the red one!

This is a great apartment for writing, thinking or staying if you're in town for work or a visit. I've made it affordable for those looking to be economical but still experience the comforts of home-living. It is an older building, so you will contend with occasional irritations (I ripped out molding, bad ceiling patch from landlord), but it is clean (!) and cozy. I updated the apartment with a painted high-gloss concrete floor and cozy area rugs. [No dishwasher or microwave, though, sorry.]

The apartment is a 1 bedroom and therefore a great spot for single travelers, couples, sisters or brothers who will share a bed, a mother-daughter, etc. The couch is NOT meant for sleeping on, sorry.

FAQs: Parking is negotiable - please make sure to inquire if you require a private parking spot. (There is parking on the street in front of the apartment, FYI.) NOPE! I don't have a toaster, so you have to use the broiler for toast. NOPE! No pets, sorry. Pay washer/dryer on premise. And last minute requests with less than 48 hours notice are hard to confirm and arrange, even if dates are open. I will try, but I can't promise!

And finally, I love hosting people at my place when I'm traveling and follow the basic tenant, Do Unto Others. Need something last minute? Just ask. Need for me to hold dates because your credit card is maxed? Just ask. Things come up for both parties and I've always found it helpful to be flexible and kind. Questions? Please ask!

Other things to note

I have shampoo/conditioner/disposable razors, etc, so no need to pack this if you like. I'm also happy to grab a little something for you in advance, when possible and when requested with enough notice. Long stays of a month or more are provided with cozy house slippers, too!

Lovely place, great views of the lake, easy walk to Fremont with lots to do (and eat). While the walk back is up hill, it is pretty gentle. Even though we had a very hot week, the apartment stayed perfectly cool just leaving the patio door open. There is some traffic noise (distant but loud) with the door open, but the bedroom was always quiet, and there was no excessive noise (sirens or the like). And if you cook, there is quality cookware and a well stocked larder (plenty of spices, oil, etc). Will certainly stay again if we are in the area!

Good location in a quiet neighbourhood. Amy was very good at communicating with us before and after our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.

Everything as promised. Thorough and prompt communication from Amy made it easy. She gives stellar recommendations for restaurants. The view is exactly what I had hoped for.

This is an excellent place for a bit of calm and nature while being walkable to Fremont and easy public transit to downtown Seattle. Amy was helpful and responsive.

Amy is one of the most accommodating hosts that I have had. She worked with my odd check in schedule and even went out of her way to drive me to lunch. the place is a great bang for your buck. it's homey and the view is worth every penny. the bed is also quite comfortable and if you're a musician, the piano and guitar are a great surprise.

I am a food writer and cookbook author (Urban Pantry, Apartment Gardening, APPLES, Fresh Pantry & Salad Days!) based in Seattle. I also own a gardening business, so my apartment garden is pretty great!
