Queen bed with organic cotton sheets. Apartment has wifi, HBO, ROKU or APPLE TV + local cable TV & a small desk with monitor for a multi-mon hook up (fitted with a thunderbolt for Macs). Includes all the comforts of home, an awesome cookbook collection AND a piano.
New wool flannel couch with down fill - you can see in the pics - it's the gray one, not the red one!
This is a great apartment for writing, thinking or staying if you're in town for work or a visit. I've made it affordable for those looking to be economical but still experience the comforts of home-living. It is an older building, so you will contend with occasional irritations (I ripped out molding, bad ceiling patch from landlord), but it is clean (!) and cozy. I updated the apartment with a painted high-gloss concrete floor and cozy area rugs. [No dishwasher or microwave, though, sorry.]
The apartment is a 1 bedroom and therefore a great spot for single travelers, couples, sisters or brothers who will share a bed, a mother-daughter, etc. The couch is NOT meant for sleeping on, sorry.
FAQs: Parking is negotiable - please make sure to inquire if you require a private parking spot. (There is parking on the street in front of the apartment, FYI.) NOPE! I don't have a toaster, so you have to use the broiler for toast. NOPE! No pets, sorry. Pay washer/dryer on premise. And last minute requests with less than 48 hours notice are hard to confirm and arrange, even if dates are open. I will try, but I can't promise!
And finally, I love hosting people at my place when I'm traveling and follow the basic tenant, Do Unto Others. Need something last minute? Just ask. Need for me to hold dates because your credit card is maxed? Just ask. Things come up for both parties and I've always found it helpful to be flexible and kind. Questions? Please ask!
Check in listed as 3pm and Check out listed as 12pm, but these are flexible IF YOU ENQUIRE and we chat about it. Please feel free to reach out if you have late/early flights into Seattle and need more access. I can often accommodate without issue.
Interaction with guests
Other things to note
I have shampoo/conditioner/disposable razors, etc, so no need to pack this if you like. I'm also happy to grab a little something for you in advance, when possible and when requested with enough notice. Long stays of a month or more are provided with cozy house slippers, too!
No smoking. No pets. No piano playing between 9pm & 9am. And please no heavily scented soaps or perfumes. Fruity-pebbles-raspberry-vanilla toiletries can be overwhelming to other guests. The couch is NOT available as a sleeping location nor are there extra linens. The apartment is a 1 bedroom and therefore a great spot for single travelers, couples, sisters or brothers who will share a bed, a mother-daughter, etc. The couch is NOT meant for sleeping on, thank you!
Monthly fee includes cleaning fee mid-stay, so the apartment is fresh and tidy for you.
I am a food writer and cookbook author (Urban Pantry, Apartment Gardening, APPLES, Fresh Pantry & Salad Days!) based in Seattle. I also own a gardening business, so my apartment garden is pretty great!
