A beautifully renovated mid-century, 5 bedroom detached house with stunning views across Somerset countryside. Just 10 mins drive or a short bus ride from the centre of World Heritage city of Bath, the house is in the pretty village of Bathford with its community-run shop and popular gastro pub. With plenty of room for up to nine guests, the house is perfectly placed for quick and easy access to Bath, while providing a beautiful and spacious house and garden to enjoy.

The space

The house was built in the 1960s and last year was completely remodelled, with a stunning contemporary two-storey extension. A huge fully equipped open-plan kitchen with a spacious wooden dining table, island with seating for three is a fantastic space for entertaining or family and friend get togethers. Huge glass doors lead out to an attractive landscaped garden with patio and lawn. The patio has a table with seating for 8.

Off the kitchen is a comfortable living room with 40" TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and BT Sport, as well as an PS3 and a Wii. There is also a stereo with speakers mounted in the ceiling. The house has full wifi.

A large utility room has plenty of space for coats and shoes, a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The whole house has been freshly painted in Farrow & Ball whites and greys and there are brand new carpets throughout.

The master bathroom and ensuite have been completely refurbished with fresh white bathroom furniture, grey modern tiles and heated towel rails.
The house is heated by both underfloor heating and wall-mounted radiators. A brand new heating system and boiler was fitted as part of the renovation.
All the bedrooms are a good size, with large windows looking out to the countryside at the back and the village of Bathford to the front.

No problem with parking as there is space on the front drive for two cars, plus one additional car on the road directly in front of the house.

Guest access

Guests can access all areas apart from the office (which is locked) and downstairs front room which is soon to be decorated.

Interaction with guests

Unless we tell the guests otherwise whilst they are staying at the house we will be staying in Bath so can easily be contacted if there are any questions. I would be happy to meet you at the house when you arrive to go through the house set up and recommendations of places to go in Bath.

Other things to note

We have a very well behaved 2 year old black lab dog. She only lives downstairs (never allowed up stairs) and she sleeps in the utility room. Whilst guests are staying she and her bedding are of course removed. . All floors and carpets are fully mopped and cleaned. The house is spotless for the guests. I just wanted to let you know in case of any serious allergies. I myself have asthma and an allergic to cats but have no problem with Lottie our dog.

We had an amazing weekend at Emma's. Staying at Emma's house was our first air bnb experience. And it was superb. First of all, not all even 5 star hotels give so much advance information on places to visit, things to see, what to do as Emma did. And the house was very beautiful, cosy and homely. It was so well equipped for our extended family of 4 adults and 4 kids.

Emma was a wonderful host and her house is fabulous, clean, well equipped and in such a lovely location. During our stay we visited places that Emma had recommended - a gastropub close by and lovely little village called Bradford on Avon. I can't really fault anything - I'm a city girl at heart but everything was perfect. Fortunately the weather was great so we spent a lots of time in the garden but even if it hadn't the house has plenty of room, light, airy and well decorated. Our bed was super comfy, we were provided with everything we needed (towels, clean linen etc) and Emma was on hand throughout despite being on holiday to answer any questions and provide general advice. This was my first experience on Airbnb and it was a great one!

A lovely house in a lovely area! Great open plan communal kitchen/dining area spilling out into a terrace and BBQ area - thank goodness the sun decided to shine so we could make full use of it! Great layout for a gang of friends (in our case a hen do) to have a nice escape to the beautiful countryside of Bath. Emma was on hand any time we needed (even though in the depths of the Highlands at the time) and provided lots of useful info on things to do in the area. All very positive!

We really loved Emma's place as it was stylish, modern and most importantly: comfortable. There was plenty of space and the house has a very communal feel and layout - which is perfect if you're looking to get away and spend some quality time together with your family/friends. Emma made us feel really welcome, and gave us plenty of guidance ahead of time to ensure that we made the most of the house and the local area.
