The Traditional Mykonian House is located on one of the most privileged spots of the Mykonos Town area. It just takes a 5-minute walk to visit the lively shops, restaurants and bars in Town. Alternatively, guests can enjoy the privacy this property has to offer, relax in the lush green veranda overlooking the sea and admire the stunning sunset view. The House is only a 5-minute drive from the ring road, from which any place on the island can be easily reached.
Please respect the quiet hours from 23h to 7h.
Do not flush toilet paper, condoms, sanitary towels (pads) in the toilet.
If the toilet or the system gets clogged and if any material is found, you will be responsible and charged with the bills to unclog it.
Do not go outside of the window in the living room since it’s the ceiling of another house and you can disturb the residents.
DO NOT DRINK THE TAP WATER. At your arrival, we will provide bottled water. Keep in mind that you will need to buy extra bottles, as we don’t provide water for the entire duration of your stay.
Make sure the main door from the road is locked when entering and exiting.
Be respectful of the garden and surrounding areas since they are shared for everyone living in the space.
Born and raised in Athens, I am a Mykonian from my father's side of the family. From my early childhood days, I have been visiting Mykonos as often as I could, both in winter and summer.
I always wanted to live in Mykonos for a long stretch of time. After marrying my Portuguese husband, Miguel Louro de Almeida, and giving birth to our daughter, I was able to make my dream come true.
To our family, Mykonos means a lot more than the reckless fun and glamorous lifestyle seen on the media. Below the glossy surface, one can find much more: the old traditional Mykonian houses, the intensely arid landscape embroidered with dry-stone walls, the unique, crystal-clear beaches, the island of Delos, the bright sunlight, people who are making a great effort to preserve their traditions and identity while development is wreaking havoc, people with a true cosmopolitan nature...
Mykonos is our source of inspiration. Its multicultural atmosphere, tolerance and contrasts are the main reasons we love this island.
I work as a freelance design professional, Miguel is an IT technician. As a graphic designer, I specialize in book design and graphic applications for museums and universities.I am really fond of books, art, culture and the sea. Miguel loves history, playing the drums and video games. We both enjoy traveling, cinema, music and nature.
