Dar El Eden house is an old 18th century swahili house carefully restaured and expanded in 2009.

This coral stone house maintains its original swahili architecture , using local traditional materials and plastered tadelakt techniques .

Original 3,5 ceilings and walls are decorated with carved niches , freezes and alcoves .

The 4 levels home with swimming pool have 5 bedrooms suiting up for 13 persons and includes a 360 degrees panoramic view terrace on the city and ocean on third floor.

Bang in the heart of Lamu's old town, Gille's building (or palace :0) is more akin to a work of art than anything else. We had a great stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone else passing through.
