Check In
Marco's flat was good. It took me and my boyfriend a little while to settle, but once we settled we enjoyed it. There were definitely high and low points in our stay, some which could be fixed very easily in the future. When we arrived we met with a lady called Ana, she spoke zero english nor spanish (and many italinas have managed to strike a half conversation with me with rough italian mixed wih some spanish, but not this lady). She produced a contract, in full Italian and was eager for us to sign it. I didn't understand it at all appart from name, entry time and date, exit time and date. Those bits i understood. Then there was a full paragraph that to this day i have no clue. I think Marco should have provided some translation or a warning that this would be required, because realistically, what were we to do? Our alternatives would have been to... not sign and.. leave? To go where? Would have i gotten my money back from airbnb if i would have walked out? I don't know. We blindly signed, it was fine in the end. But it does give you a sour start to the holiday so heads up. After Ana told us that we had to leave by 10 am on check out date (although on Marco's ad it says "flexible "), because there was no means of negotiating this with our limited vocabulary we accepted. She showed us the appliances and the rooms and she left. The flat was well equipped with 2 air conditioners which work perfectly, 1 comfy sofa, 1 comfortable bed, 1 well working washing machine and a fitted kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen has a big fridge freezer and a very good oven. There was no washing up liquid, so we bought some, and the kitchen didn't have any cooking knifes, wooden spoons or cooking utensils, and no chopping board. I messaged Marco about this and he said that maybe (previous) people took it. Made me wonder if they also didn't understand the contract. Marco agreed to pay me back for the utensils if i wanted to buy some. This was really good of him as the host, but by day 3 we didn't find somewhere to buy a good knife and chopping board (my Italian being limited and the supermarkets in the area being basic/small), so we gave up and bought takeways. I was a bit sad as this could have been avoided if Marco would have made sure that the kitchen was well stocked before we got there as i have mentioned before we booked that i liked doing my own cooking because of my allergies. The bathroom is spacious apart from the shower cubicle, which is very very small and uncomfortable. The shower also seems to have blocked drains as water soon fills the cubicle floor. This could be because the building is old, or maybe just needs a weekly unblocking treatment....

We had a lovely stay at Marco's apartment. We didn't get to meet Marco as our flight was delayed but he arranged for a lovely lady called Anna to meet us at the apartment. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and in a great location too. Marco is a good host.

I had a good time while in Cagliari. Marco's flat is near the marina, which is a nice part of town - good place to sit in the evening with a book and an ice cream. There's a very nice paneteria next door to the apartment block. Marco was very friendly and was happy to change the time I checked out when I noticed I'd made a mistake about the time I had to leave. The area can be a little noisy at night, but the windows are thick and do their best to keep the noise out, and I wore ear plugs so I had no trouble.

Marco’s appartment is perfectly located to discover the historic center of Cagliari. Carmen was very available to take care of the keys when we arrived and when we left. We had a really nice stay, thank you again !

The flat of Marco is really well localised, totally in the heart of the city. We could visit the city by feets and you have a lot of bus lines nearby to go around and to Poetto and Villasimius beaches. The apartment was clean, practical and the air conditioner worked perfectly. I recommended it !

We had a great stay at Marco's appartment! Everything you need is there, from a microwave and oven in the kitchen to even an iron if you need to iron clothes. With all the heat outside we were happy with the airconditioning in both rooms. The location is on the second floor, right in the centre of town, so very central and convenient, walking distance from the station and restaurants. Marco was very friendly and punctual and helpful. We recommend staying here!
