Dyffryn sits alone right now as she did for twenty years before we were lucky enough to buy her. The Christmas tree is still inside ready to be decorated by the guests who we unable to come for Christmas and New Year. But the beautiful countryside will be changing around her, the snowdrops by the swing and the daffodils along the back hedge will be showing through the frost. I can't wait to get back there, it will be the first place I go when lockdown lifts.

The space
Dyffryn is a large cosy, shabby chic farmhouse in the Welsh countryside. There is a pub across the fields which is opposite our well equipped local shop. We take dogs, two small ones or one medium dog, no large dogs contact me before booking. It's so peaceful in our half-acre garden, or we love to stay in with the fires raging and play monopoly. Llangranog beach, 25mins, is amazing with beautiful coastal walks from both sides, and another two pubs! Wales has so much to offer without the crowds. My place is walking distance to a pub with great dining and a local shop which seems to sell everything with an eye for wholesome quality and fine wine The beaches of west Wales and the Teifi river, renowned for its fishing, are all close by. It has great views of the countryside right across to the Preseli Hills in the distance. You’ll love my place because of its cosy and authentically rustic atmosphere inside and our half-acre garden with fire pit, a table and fire bowl outside by the house. My place is good for families (with kids), and big groups.
Dyffryn is all set up for indoor and outdoor play. It has a cosy lounge with an open fire, a Cwtch, (Welsh for snug), with a TV so the kids can chill out. The breakfast room also has an Esse Ironheart stove that you can cook on for that authentic cottage breakfast as well as the fully equipped kitchen at the back. We also have a full-sized dining table if you like more formal eating or playing games and jigsaws. The half-acre garden has a swing, treehouse and trampoline. A fire pit and an outdoor table made by a local craftsman and festoon lights for that festival feel.

The countryside in west Wales is very beautiful, its mostly farm land with many horse stables and sheep of course. There are many streams and the river Tiefe is famous for its fishing. You can buy a fishing permit in Cenarth.

I live in Stroud in Gloucester with my husband and three children. We love to be outside in the countryside, we like to build sand castles and are happy to spend a day channeling water, and invading each others kingdoms. We would follow that up with a pint and a packet of crisps if all goes well.
