So Margit's place is on the East side of the city, near the The Zion Gate and The Dung Gate, with The Jaffa Gate being South and The Damascus Gate being West. Habad Street is right in the Jewish Quarter, near the largest synagogue in Jerusalem, with its roof the same height as The Domb of the Rock. You are in a gorgeous area here! The market square is a 2 minute walk away and is so peaceful and friendly. You are about a 10-15 minute walk from The Western Wall, about 30 minute walk to The Damascus Gate which is in the Muslim Quarter and about 15 minute walk to Jaffa Gate which is in the Christian Quarter, where you have the start of the Ramparts Walk, a walk around the city of Jerusalem on the city wall! I recommend an Arabic salad here at Jaffa Gate at Versavee Restaurant Grill and Bar...utterly delicious!!!!!! At Jaffa Gate is a modern shopping (URL HIDDEN) mum and I nicked named it Brent Cross as we could never remember it's name ha ha ha. I think it's called Mamilla shopping centre. Here we had Italian icrecream (gelato). I had snickers flavour...yummy!!! The Via Dolorosa is about a 10 minute walk from Margit's place. The streets are so narrow and to think Jesus, after been beaten to death literally, carried that massive heavy wooden cross through here. When you go to The Damascus Gate, type in The American Colony Hotel in your sat nav. It's about a 10 minute walk. It's safe to walk too. It's lovely there, for anything really ha ha ha. Mum and I did this, then once we headed back to The Damascus Gate we decided to not go back into the old city but to walk around the outside of the old city, following the wall as a guide. This was the best day for me. We timed it just right because as sunset on this Friday night, (Shabbat), we took a seat on a rock, overlooking the City of David, then we heard the first call to prayer and then the lambs horn, the shofar. Absolutely unforgettable! ! Highly recommended to all to come to Jerusalem

Margrit is such a warm, friendly and generous person. She was there when we arrived and cold drinks, fruit, chocolate and Ahava products she had ready for us. The apartment was so beautifully decorated and with a well equipped kitchenette too! Loved the books and games that she had in the little nook. We had a magical Shabbat in the old Jewish quarter! It was so nice walking around the old city and coming back to cool down and relax in the apartment. So convenient to shops, bakeries, Cofix, etc. We can't wait to go back!

This is a great option to stay in the Old City - it's in the Jewish quarter, 10 minutes walk to the Western Wall, Jaffa Gate and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, so very well located, and probably as quiet as you will find in such a boisterous city. The flat has just been renovated and while it's not huge, it is very tasteful, clean and well equipped, and perfectly big enough for two people. Legatia is a great host, and very helpful - even going as far as reminding us that the clocks were going forward during our stay, which we had completely overlooked, obviously.

Legatia is a great place to stay if you're in Jerusalem. It's right in the heart of the Old City and within walking distance to many famous tourist attractions. Margit was an excellent hostess and stayed in constant communication with me, answering all questions. The apartment is charming, clean, well decorated, and well stocked. Thanks for a great trip, Margit!!

A great place to stay if you want to explore the old city; you are right at the centre of history. The appartment was extremally clean and ready to welcome us with a few extra touches that we did not expect.

We were so fortunate to find this place. As others have already written Magrit, our host was always available to make sure we had everything we needed. Being in the Old City was an incredible experience. 1. It's very easy to get to with luggage. Your cab can drop you off at the Jewish Quarter parking and then it's a 2 minute walk. 2. The location is perfect. It's on a quite street away from the hustle in the Souk. But within a few steps you can get to a delicious bakery, grocery store and more. Just a few more minutes away you are in the heart of the Jewish Quarter by the temple and a charming square. There are plenty of places to grab a Shwarma or Falafel. 3. From the apartment you can also walk up and in 5 minutes get to the Souk. On the way up Habad street when you get to the first jewelry store on your left there is a staircase. Go up there to be on the roof tops and to see an amazing view. Ask for Omar at that first jewelry store. Not the dad who quoted us double the price a day later. And really bargain with these folks and check prices at other places. They will rob you blind. 3. Great Hummus place once you get to the Main Street in souk to the right and then second left. It's on the right side and guy has Mortar and pestle in the window. 4. from the apartment you can get to Jaffa gate in 10 minutes and the Western wall is in about 10 minutes walking distance. 5. We felt very safe in the apartment and the the city as well. 6. We stayed 3 nights. And it's great to give yourself time to visit and do some tours of the city. There is so much to see and learn. 7. It's very easy to take the light rail from the Jaffa Gate area to go to the Manahae Yehuda market. The visitor center and Jaffa gate can give you more details. 8. And the apartment itself was great. The little kitchenette area was very convient. Place had everything we needed and more. Clean and comfortable beds. Just wished we could have stayed longer..
