Our heritage home has been in the family since 1896. Situated in the heart of the Byward market, home to hundreds of restaurants, boutique shops, grocery & liquor stores and a short walk to the famous Rideau Canal. Easy access to miles of cycling and walking trails within the city and a quick drive to Gatineau Provincial Park where you'll find various levels of hiking & biking trails with amazing views. Other nearby attractions include Parliament Hill and the National Art Gallery of Canada.

The space
With being centrally located you get easy and quick access to many of the attractions Ottawa has to offer.

Our home is your home ! You will have full access to the home except for a few private spaces (den/office and personal bedroom). We don't live on site while guests are enjoying their stay, but are very reachable in case you need anything or have questions. At times we may need to access our home but will only do so after providing guests advance notice. We always keep your privacy in mind.

PARKING ~ On our street there is FREE parking for 3 hours at a time from 9am to 6pm (monday - friday). Outside of these hours (evenings, weekends & statutory holidays) there are no restrictions. You can park for FREE as long as you like. However, please acquaint yourself with the parking signage upon arrival as the City of Ottawa does reserve the right to make changes from time to time.

(Hint) ...If you are planning on going out and taking your car during the day, you will have no concerns. However, if you decide to walk to your outings and leave the car, all you will need to do is move it once. Remember, many attractions are in close proximity to the house.

ALTERNATE PARKING ~ There is a public parking lot one block away. The current cost to park is $10 per day or $6 overnight.

My friends call me Mr. Adventure for a reason.... I hold a degree in Finance and Marketing. However, over the past 30 years I have developed a strong and passionate voice behind encouraging the growth of adventure travel and responsible tourism. My career path has included: Student Tour Director, Sales Representative, National Sales Manager and a bilingual educator (French & English) to the general public, as well as travel professionals and students, all in support of this mindset I favour. On a personal note…. “My mom was my inspiration to follow my heart and travel. I’ve journaled every adventure I’ve taken. My memories are currently stored in boxes in my basement and one day, when the time is right, I would like to put them in print” My travels have taken me to 146 countries across 7 continents. While it is difficult to choose my favourite destination, without a doubt Rwanda holds a place dear to me as I am passionate about primates and the mountain gorillas top this list. I love music from most genres and there's not an Asian dish I would push aside. Hiking, cycling, kayaking, golf and pretty much anything outdoors is on my list of favourite ways to spend my time during work or play. Together with my partner Janis, who is also an avid traveller and outdoors-woman, we welcome you to our home. We love to meet new people from all walks of life and look forward to one day meeting you.
