Kingfisher Cottage is a lovely english country cottage built in the style of a barn conversion with mellow stone and roses growing up the walls in a lovely setting. With a south facing garden in a small village of approximately 35 houses. The owners previous holiday home (which we now live in) was accredited with Enjoy England/Visit Britain who awarded Chapel Cottage 4* and in 2013 was further graded with a Gold Award to confirm the owners targets on quality of the accommodation, facilities and housekeeping. The owners aim for similar standards at Kingfisher Cottage and plan to arrange accreditation.

Kingfisher Cottage is located in a no through road with only 3 houses beyond - so with almost no traffic in the lane you can truly 'get away from it all'!
Blackford has a lovely church and there are walks, historic houses, Jurassic coast and other places of interest within easy reach. There are renowned pubs and restaurants in the area that provide something for everyone - from quaint to modern!
With easy access to north coast (Somerset & Devon) & south coast (Jurassic coast of Dorset, Devon etc) and under one hour from Weymouth - site of Olympics 2012 sailing - there are sandy beaches, quiet coves, great walks and more!
Kingfisher Cottage is within two hours of the centre of London (as well as Heathrow and Gatwick airports). Local airports include Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and Bournemouth. The tiny, picturesque village of Blackford is situated on the Dorset/Somerset border within very easy access of the A303.
Nearby is the historic town of Sherborne, famous for its abbey, as well as Glastonbury, Wells, Bath, Castle Cary, Bruton and Dorchester are amongst others within easy distance. The surrounding rolling countryside is adjacent to the historic site of Camelot - reputedly the fortress of King Arthur.
A stream runs along the boundary of the garden which has a choice of sitting/eating out areas and a BBQ. The interior has been finished to a high standard and recently redecorated. There is off road parking for three cars.
The cottage was built in the style of a barn conversion in 1997 and recently modernised and updated. It now consists of four bedrooms/three bathrooms, (two en-suite to bedrooms), kitchen with large farmhouse table and dining/sitting room with comfortable seating, table & chairs as well as woodburner with logs.
