South Perth has always been known for it's friendly people, it is a clean and safe area and you can explore the area day or night and feel safe walking the streets

As the house is so close to the city there is many options from the extensive paths near the river to the high frequency bus every 10 minutes

I have a small inside outside dog named Hoppy, he is friendly and clean, he will not go in your room and you can check him out on Fbook at by searching Hoppy The Dog

Other things to note

Hoppy is a inside outside dog, he is clean and quiet and will not bug you nor enter your room.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE : There are signs in the house and all guests are told on arrival but electricity in Perth is very expensive due to only having one electric company. Many guests have been leaving their lights on day and night even when they are asleep or out and about. Using the lights is fine when needed but when your not in or fast asleep they are not needed on and a additional $10 per day will apply for waste of electricity from failing to turn off lights when out or when asleep.

AirBnB true spirit in a perfect mix of work and travel. This will not be my typical review. I think it will end up being an ode to friendship, the type that emerges from an unexpected spark that lights between two people who are naturally sceptical about each other because of how they met. It’s incredible how not knowing anything but superficial comments you read about one another, people enter into one of the most intimate and surprisingly ever increasing commercial transactions: living together with a complete stranger. In my case, for three weeks. Naturally, there are many things that can go terribly wrong, the worse are not worth mentioning, you know, the stories that make the news. But twenty-one days can turn into hell without going to such extremes (just think about, for example, someone that annoys you to your guts). Whilst taking short trips generally shield you from this level of intimacy -as the stay is too short for people to show their true selves behind the host/guest mask- the same happens with the potential for friendships AirBnb seems to be always promoting -there just isn’t enough time to create meaningful bonds between complete strangers. Longer stays are risky, if you are lucky like I was on my first time, you might find a friend to occupy a space in your heart. Marc’s place is safe (as a woman travelling alone this time, it was a crucial factor) for its location is in a middle class to high end quiet neighbourhood that is perfectly located in South Perth, close to city centre with excellent transport links right around the corner (including to the beach!). This is why I decided to book with Marc (plus the price was a bargain, for I was lucky enough to be one of the first to book with him). I ended up with that and much more: a warm home to get to after a full day’s work, filled with ‘how was your day?’, advice about options for my limited free time in WA (Marc explained the highlights and has all sorts of brochures and maps), night walks to get mesmerised by with the bright and colourful lit up city shining over the Swan River. Fireworks in the Swan. Pancakes. Movie screening surrounded by a starry sky (please watch Pricilla, Queen of the Desert). Shared meals amidst jokes and puns, and, as Marc is Australian, I was constantly learning about the country, its culture, its wonders and its problems. And yes, its version of English language too. Finally, if you like to cook, you’ll find the kitchen stocked with a great variety of appliances. If you like to give love, Hoppy J the dog is the most perfect, cuddly, sweet recipient for it. For a short or long stay, Marc’s comfy and convenient house and beautifully lit back yard is a treat.

Mark and Hoppy were great hosts, most welcoming, helpful and stimulating conversationalists. Very comfortable accommodation, lots of extra considerations like individual toiletries, range of amenities, quiet, clean, comfy bed, close to town and parks, buses, etc. Thanks Mark!
