Attractions and nearby amenities
Enjoy a wander down to the village of Goudhurst where a visitor once said, “genius could scarcely have made it more irregular. It is built on the slope of an eccentric hill…. it was a perfect pastoral scene, one of those to be found only in England."
Visit one of the three pubs, including the Goudhurst Inn, or buy some treats in the village shop.
There are an abundance of places to visit in the surrounding areas including the National Trust’s spectacular Scotney Castle, historic Sissinghurst Castle or medieval Bodiam Castle.
Explore Bedgebury Pinetum, an established National Conifer collection.
There is also Rudyard Kipling’s former home Batemans.
For the more active, visit Bewl Water, the country park located on a reservoir and host to numerous activities.
The Pantiles at Tunbridge Wells are within a 25 minute drive where you can meander through the walk ways or through any number of the many streets holding wonderful independent shops, delicious cafes and individual boutiques.
