What a lovely, peaceful space! The home was beautifully designed and every detail blended together to create such a restful atmosphere. Jann and Bob were so welcoming and kind. I'd gladly return again and would recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

This place is amazing! The pictures are a fair representation, it's cozy, within a moments walk to the water, the outside chairs are perfect for your morning coffee or evening wine. Purpose: My best friend of 20+ years and I try to get together once a year for a weekend to catch up and hang out without our husband/kids/dogs. This year we stayed at Jann & Bob's place. Outside: There is a pool but I can't speak to it as it was closed for the season. There is plenty of parking for the cars (my guest and I parked side by side), the front deck hand an umbrella which came in handy, the back deck had a BBQ (we didn't try to use it), chairs and coffee tables which we did use. You can see the beach through the trees and walking down is a brief minute (maybe two) on a well groomed path. The beach is a WA beach full of mud and sharp shells but Jann and Bob have set out loaner boots on the porch so you don't have to get your own shoes gross. We brought kayaks were able to carry them with ease from the car to the beach and back. Inside: There is a couch and two chairs which made it easy to talk for hours and to watch TV and color. The kitchen table seats 4 which gave us plenty of space to store our snacks within arms reach. The kitchen had all of the amenities you'd hope for including a Kureig and a normal coffee pot. The downstairs room seemed spacious (I slept upstairs). The bathroom is compact but has a great use of space, there is room for your toiletries, a large shower (the kind with tile and it's so big no door is necessary). The toilet is next to a large window facing the trees/beach which is a bit alarming at first but as there is no foot traffic and it's sooo pretty, you really begin to look forward to going in there. The upstairs bedroom (loft) was amazing, I would live there if I thought future guests wouldn't mind! The bed is comfortable and near outlets (useful for phone charging or in my case, a cpap). There is a table that could be used for puzzles or games or whatever, I used it to get some work done and again, the view! Beyond the table were a few chairs and a telescope. I didn't try to use the telescope, it had a remote and I decided that I was plenty happy with the view available from the chairs/table/bed. I know I've said this a lot but the views of the trees / beach / water are amazing. I grew up in Seattle, I'm no stranger to the trees but I never cease to fall in love with cozy places that allow me to stare at them for hours on end. The only thing I would caution a prospective visitor...

The house is not as secluded as one might think from the photos, but one is able to maintain enough privacy. The setting is extremely lovely and serene.

We had an amazing time in the peaceful waterfront Island home. Definitely much needed vacation. The drive seemed like a distance, but once you arrive to the waterfront home, it was always breathtaking with an amassing beachfront view and sound of the birds and water! Jann & Bob greeted us with a smile and a gift basket with goodies, as if we were family, visiting. They are extremely pleasant and genuine. They gave us all the privacy in the world. If you are looking for a gateway vacation where you can disconnect and relax, this is your vacation home. We absolutely recommend this place to everyone, as you won't be disappointed! Thank you, Eric & Ty

We had an amazing stay at Jann and Bob's guest house. It was one of the nicest and most well appointed airbnbs that we've stayed at. The guest house was stylish, comfortable, and very clean. The beach was tranquil and quiet with lots of opportunities for wildlife spotting and oyster picking. The gardens and the rest of the property were meticulously designed and lovely. Harstine island is a really special, one of a kind destination--it's remote and quiet without being hard to get to or far away. We spent our days enjoying fresh seafood, beach combing, and hiking. Jann and Bob are passionate airbnb hosts who excel at making their guests feel welcome, comfortable, and pampered. We had a toddler with us and we were delighted to find the house very safe, baby proofed, and baby friendly. The homemade cinnamon rolls were a wonderful welcome treat. If you have the chance to stay here, you must! It's a gem of an airbnb. We can't wait to share it with all of our friends.
