Close to the city center, Algoma area is 10-15 min walking. Until I find a good new student, I'll put up for airbnb guest. The house is not fully furnished yet but there is a good sized kitchen upstairs. This basement room with a bath room but shower is upstairs. Ceiling is a bit low. If you need just basic to sleep and shower, it's for you. Free wifi and desk. Cleaning fee incld. Walking to swimming pool, skaterink, community center. Lakehead U is less than 10 min driving and 20 min walking.

Noriko's place was very good; I think it's an excellent deal. it's located in a nice and quiet neighborhood, and the house is bright and clean. She was also very nice and accommodating given the fact I was running late for the check-in. I recommend it for people staying overnight in Thunder Bay.

Noriko is very friendly and was nice to talk to. I booked close to midnight before and she was very accomadating. However, the place was not as clean as I would have liked. The room seemed dusty and the sheets did not look like they were washed.

Response from Noriko:
Ian, Im on the way to furnish the room here. I washed bed sheets always and I bought new 2 sets of beddings this time. However your standard is too high for 29$ room and I didn't charge any cleaning fees and you booked the day before 12 AM.

She was able to accommodate me super last minute. It was really nice of her and she didn't have to. There aren't many options in Thunder Bay and this was a good cheap choice!

Noriko's place is just as she describes it on the site. A place to stay for the night with all amenities available upon request. Thanks Noriko!

It smelt like cigarette so I decided to keep driving to my final destination.

Response from Noriko:
Sorry, I got some renovation guys in and out for my basement and bathroom for few days and I didn't exactly know your arrival time. I don't think you inform me. And you are on the way to N.Ontario. Anyways, I will try to keep opening the doors for while to change air. There are many cold days in Thunder Bay, to keep the place warm, we forgot to change the air.

I'm from Osaka, Japan. I'm a hair stylist & photographer. I love traveling for photography. More recently, I have visited Mexico, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka, and USA. Early July 2016, I drove Vancouver to Thunder Bay Ontario by myself. It was super great experience to see Canadian cities. 3,300km, 800km average a day and drove back to Burnaby. Well, I loved driving Nevada, Arizona area for photoshooting, there are fantastique landscapes.

I live with my son - his room is downstairs and my room is upstairs, as is the kitchen, bathroom, and guestroom. My house is a 7 minute bus ride to both Royal Oak and Edmonds Skytrain Stations. It takes about 30-40 minutes to get to downtown Vancouver, and 20 minutes to Metrotown. Up to now, I don't charge cleaning fees. This is an ordinary house.

During the school year, I usually host one international student. I enjoy the summers here in beautiful British Columbia, so I think travelers should too!
