An alluring house recently renewed with a special care for details and for the baroccan sicilian tradition.
You'll find one of the rare private gardens in the old town of Modica and original floors from the late 18th century.

The space

The house shows two large rooms with high ceilings and antique original floors, one it's the living room (with a sofa bed) and the other its the dining room and kitchen; both have terraces that face the old town of Modica.
There are two bedrooms; a single and a double and two bathrooms.

The garden gives you the chance to enjoy breakfasts and dinners. Dining with the great view and in the heart of the town is magic. Also all the plants are from this particular area such as Lemon trees, mandarins, Carobs and succulent plants. Amaca, shower and beach beds are available.

The greater part of the furniture comes from this area as well as the materials used during the renewal. Our mission was to give life to an abandoned building by maintaining the baroccan soul that so well characterize Modica, Scicli and all the valley of Noto.

I will leave a portable internet station that you'll be able to use at the beach and during your day trips around the area.

Guest access

The house is situated in a very quiet pedestrian area and there is a free parking within 200 meters.

We were soooo happy that we were able to stay in this beautiful and very special house! It had everything we needed and was so comfortable. The design, the views, the garden... you will not be sorry! We can’t wait to come back. Thank you so very much for such a great stay.

So I am going to add to the long list of amazing reviews for Caterina's house. It is stunning! It met our expectations and more. High vaulted ceilings - a huge amount of space, well equipped kitchen (not that we used it) as we went out every day and evening. But we bought some basic supplies and had a breakfast of kings (coffee and toast and fruit!) in her garden looking out over the most incredible view of Modica. Sitting in the shade of the mandarin and lemon trees. Heaven! Would highly recommend anyone to stay here - It made our holiday!

Caterina's family house is just stunning! It has all original features and couldn't be maintained and kept better. The garden has breathtaking views over Modica and feels very peaceful and relaxing from breakfast till night time. Peppe welcomed us and did the check in. He couldn't be more helpful and allocating. Everything was perfect and much better than expected. They even welcomed us with a bottle of wine and chocolate from Modica. Highly recommended!

Well, I can add my chorus to the rave reviews - my boyfriend and I have just spent four days in this beautiful place. The flat isn't just a wonderful place to stay in Modica, it's a REASON to stay in Modica - and certainly to go back. The location is fantastic, the views, the kitchen, etc etc. not sure how I could be more effusive without sounding unhinged. Thank you, Caterina, for having such a lovely place to unwind. Some tips for others: the window-doors can bang in the wind so be careful. Two nice things we discovered in Modica: a lovely cheese called 'ficu', and a delicious English pale ale made in Modica: Tarí Trisca. It's all lovely though.

Caterina's apartment really is even more delightful than her photos suggest. It's fully equipped, beautifully furnished, charmingly historic and the garden terrace is just the loveliest place from which to enjoy views of Modica. This was the perfect base from which to explore south-east Sicily and enjoy ancient ruins, baroque churches, sunny beaches and striking countryside. The apartment is a short walk from a brilliant wine bar, Rappa Enoteca, and very good restaurant, Locanda del Colonnello, so even if you aren't in the area for history and architecture you could have a very nice time indeed without even going 500m. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

The place exceeded our expectations. Peppe met us, showed us the apartment and answered an questions we had. Both Peppe and Caterina were easy to contact. We had a problem with water on the first day and Peppe was round within 15 minutes and sorted it. The apartment and its garden is beautiful and spacious and equipped with everything we could have needed. Would definitely reccommend.
