Otterburn 2 is a semi-detached traditional cottage recently upgraded with new kitchen and bathroom. Located in an elevated position with spectacular views over Melvaig and the Minch overlooking the Isle of Skye, Harris and Lewis from the conservatory as well as the bedrooms.
Conservatory: Fantastic views over Melvaig and the Minch with the Isles of Rona, Raasay and Skye in the background. Ample seating to relax and unwind and watch the natural world go by.
Open plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner: 2 x 2 seat settees, coffee table, TV with Freeview channels, dining table for 4, kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans and kitchenware.
Shower room: electric shower, wash hand basin, w.c.
Utility room: washing machine, clothes horse for drying wet clothing, iron & board.
Bedroom1: Double bed, beside cabinets, bedside lamps, chest of drawers, mirror. Great views over Melvaig and the inner Minch.
Bedroom2: 2 single beds, bedside cabinet, bedside light, clothes storage, mirror.
Outside: Picnic bench, parking for 1 car, bike storage in shed, access to small beach 200 yards away. The natural garden is fully enclosed thus secure for dogs and children.
Other info: Wi-fi is included at no extra cost however this is not suitable for streaming.
The cottage has new eco electric-heating throughout and an eco water heating system.
Option to rent both Otterburn 1 and Otterburn 2 together with internal adjoining door – will sleep 8 when booked together.
Guests have access to the entire property.
Interaction with guests
We are the booking agent for the owners and can be contacted at our office in Dingwall during the following hours Monday to Friday 9:30 - 17:00 and Saturdays 9:30 - 12:00 prior to your arrival.
Prior to your arrival we will email guests a contact number for the property owner or local housekeeper for your use should you require any assistance during your stay.
Other things to note
All bed linen, towels, WiFi and electricity is included in the price.
Stocked with a starter supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls, and other kitchen and bathroom supplies.
Sorry no pets.
Please note: There is very poor/ or no mobile reception in Melvaig. The nearest restaurants are back in Gairloch (20 miles round trip). There is a grocery shop in Gairloch, so best to buy your provisions in Inverness or Gairloch before arrival.
No parties or events
Check-in time is after 4PM.
Although housekeeping staff will clean the property after you leave we respectfully ask all guests to clean and put away any plates, cups, glasses, etc they have used during their stay.
