A terrific location in Normal Heights just 5 blocks to restaurants and cafes on Adams Ave. We're centrally located, close to all freeways, SD Zoo, and Balboa Park. You'll like our comfortable, private guest house and shared garden.

The space

Enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine when you arrive. We'll help to make your stay comfortable in any way we can, whether it's telling about all that SD has to offer, or leaving you to yourself.

Guest access

You'll enjoy a comfy king size bed. The kitchen area has a mini-fridge/freezer with some bottled water, sodas, and cream for your coffee. There's a toaster, microwave, coffee, coffee pot and grinder. There is also a TV, hair dryer, iron, and wireless internet. Enjoy off street parking, and right outside your door is the spa and patio for enjoying San Diego's great weather.

Interaction with guests

If you're here for 6:00 cocktail hour on the patio on Friday or Saturday, please join us, your hosts, Arthur and Don. We live in the main house and may cross paths in the backyard now and then, but the guesthouse is completely private with your own entrance through the gate. When you arrive, just pull up the driveway to the back where you'll see the gated entrance.

Other things to note

Sorry, but we have a 4 night minimum booking policy, and please no pets.

Don and Art were fantastic hosts, it was great to get to know them and have a glass of wine together. The property was lovely and very well equipped. The wine and sodas in the fridge were an added bonus! We were perfectly located to explore downtown and also make the most of local restaurants. Would highly recommend to all!

Arthur and Donald gave us great directions and made us feel very welcome. The guesthouse was perfectly described in the listing. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Donald and Arthur provided drinks and snacks in the kitchen which was great after travelling. The bathroom was big with a great shower. The garden was pretty and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and hammock. The neighbourhood was quiet but walking distance to the bus to downtown and shops and restaurants. We loved San Diego and would definetly stay again.

We absolutely loved staying at Donald and Arthur's place! It was the highlight of our stay in SanDiego! I wish we could have stayed longer! The flat was so inviting and they were wonderful hosts! The shared yard with the hot tub is magical and it feels secluded from the street, but walking distance to interesting shops and restaurants. It's a place you could go just to refuel your energy and enjoy a restful stay with a delightful vibe and wonderful people. Or you can get out and play in San Diego and come back to wake up in a little home away from home, that has everything you need to have a smile on your face and get out exploring again. The flat couldn't have been nicer. The bed was so comfortable, everything was clean and stocked and we just couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Friendly, helpful hosts who were happy to give tips for places to visit and navigating public transit. Location is a five-ten minute walk to Adams street (several excellent restaurants and pubs) or equal distance walk in the other direction to express bus (direct line to Balboa Park, harbour, and downtown). Could not have been a more convenient location. Cozy, clean accommodations including a thoughtful snack basket and bottle of wine on arrival. Highly recommend!

A Casita in an Oasis! My friend and I spent 3 wonderful days at this charming, beautiful and thoughtfully decorated Airbnb. Don and Art were so welcoming and inviting from the moment we met them. Between thier hospitality and helpfulness in helping us discover things to see and do, and even in one case driving us since our Uber left us high and dry to the beautiful layout and high level of comfort and functionality in every aspect of the Casita. Our stay was perfect in every way and made more so because we came away with two awesome new friends;)

Arthur and Don made us feel welcome long before we even arrived, and we're sorry that they were away during our stay so that we didn't get to thank them personally! They have a beautiful guest house, and we happily used the landscaped yard and patio, as well as the jacuzzi. The coffee and snacks and wine were such a thoughtful treat, especially after a long trip. And the mini-kitchen saved us lots of money on eating out. We would happily stay here again, and if my daughter decides to go to school in San Diego I may make it my home away from home!

We've lived in this house for 15 years but have been in SD much longer. Before California, we've lived in New York, Michigan, Colorado, and Arizona. We enjoy concerts, musicals, sailing, sunset picnics, hiking, beach bonfires and traveling as much as we can. We can't live without music, wine and great food!
