Newly refurbished apartment located in the old city center, with amazing view of the city (14th floor,), 1 min from the liveliest streets of Bucharest, 3 min walk from the main metro station and from the airport shuttle bus stop. My apartment is ideal for 2 to 4 people,a family, 1 or 2 couples looking for a cozy place in the heart of Bucharest, 1 minute away from the best bars & clubs, a couple of minutes walk from the city's main attraction - The People's House. 2 supermarkets & ATM downstairs.
Ideally located, my apartment is newly refurbished and fully equipped with everything a traveler may need. Though it is in the heart of the city, being at the 14th floor of the building and being equipped with metal blinds on all windows make it really quiet. The open balcony is very useful for smokers and offers a great panoramic view of the city.
If you come from the airport, it will take you 20 to 30 minutes by Uber or taxi and 40 to 60 minutes by shuttle bus to arrive at the apartment.
The building is equipped with 4 elevators and elevator number 2 takes you in front of my apartment.
When you arrive at Henri Coanda International Airport you have three options to get to the apartment:
1. Express bus 783 from Airport Arrivals straight to the city center (Piata Unirii stop), drops you 3 min away from the apartment. You can buy round trip tickets from the airport, in front of the bus station and a round trip ticket costs 2 Euros (the equivalent in local currency, Ron so you need to exchange money before you can buy these tickets. Last time I checked, in April 2017 you couldn't pay by card.) The trip takes between 40 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic.
2. UBER taxi. If you have the Uber App installed you can easily find an Uber which will reach the apartment in 20 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic. I recommend taking your UBER from Departures (have to walk through the airport and get out at Departures exit), this way you get more taxis available, they reach you faster and will cost less as they would have to pay a stop over tax at Arrivals and this tax doesn't exist at Departures.
3. Standard Taxi (yellow cars). Please DON'T take any taxi from the ones that you'll see parked at Arrivals. They are 3 times more expensive, the drivers are very rude and sometimes these cars aren't safe either. If you want you can either use the automated machines placed at Arrivals where you can order your taxi from or call a local taxi company and order your car once you are outside of the airport as it usually takes 3 to 5 minutes for your car to arrive. When ordering a standard taxi, I recommend taking it from Departures too (a 3-4 minutes walk inside the airport from Arrivals). These will charge you 20-30% more than an UBER and will require you to pay with Ron (local currency). Some of them may accept Euros as well, but most don't so make sure you ask the driver before getting inside the car. There are exchange offices in the airport but the exchange rate is ridiculous, so you'd better look for an ATM inside the airport that has both Euros and local currency.
