Interaction with guests

I enjoy helping guests enjoy their time in Flagstaff in whatever way suits them. I've lived here for 24 years and have a great knowledge of eateries, shops and other activities; as well as where to bike, hike and climb, depending on your abilities and interests. If you'd like suggestions, please message me when you make your plans so you can come prepared with the right gear, clothing and plans for reservations and such. I'm often away from the property and may not be available during your visit. But even without my input, you'll still have a fabulous time in Flagstaff!

Other things to note

Flagstaff has Weather! Come prepared for cold temps and snow or rain in winter; intense sun and mid-day heat in summer, afternoon showers during monsoon season. Like most residences in Flagstaff, we DO NOT have air conditioning. But your room has windows and a ceiling fan, and temps drop considerably at night. Our location next to the Rio de Flag brings temps about 5 degrees cooler than other places in town.

Very nice place to stay in Flagstaff. On a quiet street with off street parking. Private apartment/bathroom setup with a very nice courtyard to relax in. There is even a hammock in the wooded backyard. While enjoying the hammock a deer came walking through the yard.

Perfect place for us. Will definitely be back. Pleasant, inviting, quiet place in a nice neighborhood just outside of Flagstaff. Easy drive or quick bike commute to downtown (5 minutes by bike or car). Easy access to MTB trails. Genius setup, as most times we don't use a kitchenette when travelling. But the community refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and toaster are always available. Mary was available, but not intrusive. Also very accommodating, letting us store our bikes in the garage rather than our room or out in the open. Very happy with our stay.

Don't miss this lovely property. The afternoon we arrived there was a doe standing in the front yard among the aspen trees as if in greeting

We loved staying here and the location was great! We could get on our mountain bikes and get right on the city urban trails from Mary's place. We were not far from town and real close to great hiking! The room was very clean and loved the outside courtyard where we enjoyed our wine in the early evening and being able to also enjoy a summer storm safely in the courtyard as well! Thanks Mary!

This suite is quiet and in a residential neighborhood, but just a few minutes from downtown Flagstaff. Really convenient and comfortable. I recommend it. We enjoyed the patios for relaxing reading and visiting with other guests and the bed was very comfortable.

Peaceful location. Quiet neighborhood among trees. Half a dozen deer waltzed in the street one evening. Cheery breakfast room, good for do it yourself breakfasts, etc. We really appreciated having frig. space outside of the room, so no frig. noise at night. I like hot herb tea. When I requested more, a profusion was supplied. Our room was set up well for a couple. Attractive, clean and comfortable bedroom, firm mattress. Lots of lighting options made it comfortable for one of us to read in a chair while the other slept. Just out of town, convenient to restaurants, museums and hiking. Late For The Train very close (great coffee and baked goods). Good place for couples who appreciate nature and culture, too. I hope we can stay here again.

This is my second stay here at Mary's place, loved the Ponderosa suite, it's warm and inviting. I travel up to Flagstaff once a month and Mary's is my favorite place to stay by far.

Mary User ProfileMary is a superhost.

I am a medical doctor who also happens to own a lovely little inn, which is where I live as well, in the owners quarters. My sons are in college and I travel to visit them (usually with Airbnb). I love to hike, bike, and play outside whenever I can. Flagstaff is perfect for that.
