Interaction with guests
My brother stays in a travel trailer at the road access while we are away. We can be reached easily by cell phone and he assists in any issues that need help.
Our neighbors are wonderful! Audrey, two doors away has the neighborhood coffee stand at the community dock where everyone meets. She makes a mean quiche! There is an abandoned single lane road along the water that gets bike tours and walkers. In good weather there are lots of kayakers passing the house. There is a scuba dive club and scuba instructors that use the beach next door. Someone is always fishing. The eagles call from the trees every morning.
Bus service just at the end of our driveway goes one direction into Port Orchard or Bremerton or the other to the Southworth ferry dock 2 miles away. For a Seattle trip take the Southworth Ferry to Fauntleroy to arrive in West Seattle (Lincoln beach park)or get off at Vashon Island and take the walk-on commuter boat to downtown Seattle to Pikes Place market, Seattle center and pioneer square. You can also get off at Vashon and take the local bus up into town. The island has lots of interesting artists. You can walk to the ferry dock through the neighborhoods. But to get to Mt Rainier, the Olympic Rain Forest or the ocean; you need to rent a car which can best be done at the airport or in town. There is one Uber driver in the area.
Other things to note
The area out front is also a scuba dive park with a huge sunken tug and lots of sea anemonies and other sea life. Manchester pub 4 miles away has live music. there is a world class bonzai garden nearby and multiple military museums. Car enthusiasts will enjoy the Lemay car museum in Tacoma.

We are 'middle age'. Husband is golf loving attorney. I am semi-retired visual effects artist. My hobby is art glass, ceramics, gardening and the occasional feature film gig.
I love water of all kinds. We keep tropical fish and are avid birders and kayakers.
