We are so very pleased you are considering staying at our 1811 Farm House. The original parts this house were built when the US was only 35 years old. Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were alive then and Abraham Lincoln was 2 years old when the house was finished!
During one of the earlier renovations a false floor was discovered in the attic that contained slave manacles. This house was part of the Underground Railroad that operated in this area between 1830 to 1860 and helped approximately 3000 slaves find their way to freedom in Canada.
Guests are welcome to walk the barns and fields but are asked to check with the Hosts to make sure their are no big activities planned for that day.
Interaction with guests
The farm is over 200 acres and we live in another house on the property that is about 1/3 of a mile away so we are available if needed.
Children under 2 years old are welcome to stay but the house is not child proofed.
