Shelley's place is really nice and well decorated, you have everything you need and you can feel like HOME while staying here. We love the design. Shelley even greeted us when we checked in, so we got to know more about Brooklyn and the area around, we do love the neighbourhood, quite, safe and pretty, will definitely choose to stay here again next time!

This apartment is a great choice for 2 people. The place is cozy, warm and clean. The area is safe and very brooklyn-ish. In the apartment you will get all you need. Two things to be mentioned. As the basement apartment is located underneath other flat it sometimes can be noisy. The second, although the place is close to subway, the trip to some parts of Manhattan can take an hour and it can be unusual for some people. Shelley was not in NYC at the time of our stay, but tried to help us with everything we need via messages. Overall we highly recommend the place and the host Shelley.

Shelley was a great understanding host, she waited for us due to our flight delay, welcomed us in and asked if we need anything. This basement apartment has everything you may ever think of needing during your stay and it was safe for our 1.5 year toddler. It's about 8 minutes walking from the subway station but this station has no elevator if you're walking with kids and stollers. The neighbourhood is relatively quite, we had a kid so we never really stated late outdoor. All in all, it was great dealing with shelley and I would recommend this apartment for sure.

This is a great apartment for one or 2 guests! It's location in Flatbush was a little further than we desired for Manhattan--but Shelley was an incredible host, helping us locate the best trains to get to where we want to go. The apartment is nice and cozy, and made for a great place to relax in after a long day of walking. We recommend!

A lovely, tidy, cozy, real flat that is a home away from home and not just a hotel. If you want to experience New York more as a person, rather than just a tourist, Shelley's place is ideal. The area of Brooklyn is served well by the 2 train which is about 40 minutes to Times Square. There is also a quicker peak 5 express trains that misses a number of stops but check times as it doesn't run weekends or late nights. Travelling on the subway each day may sound a pain but it's excellent training for getting around Manhatten easily and quickly as you are never going to be able to walk everywhere. Especially as the 2 line goes up the west side and the 5 line goes up the east so the main attractions are usually no more than one change away. Tip: Get a 7 day unlimited MTA MetroCard even if you aren't going to be in NY for a week. You'll chew through metro trips and bus trips (and the Roosevelt Air Tram) very quickly. $31 all you can eat as opposed to $2.48 every trip! The two main roads nearby have wall to wall local shops etc. where food and beer is easily available which you can cook and drink in Shelley's well stocked kitchen. A good thing to be able to do as New York eating out prices can go a bit London or Sydney shaped if done too often. Especially when you are not used to adding taxes and tipping on top. Bed is very comfy and the shower is a good powerful soaker. Shelley was a very attentive and communicative host who we only dealt with twice, and once was to say goodbye. This was because we had everything we needed in the flat as described. Overall great value and a unique way of staying in New York. Highly recommended.

Cool, artsy Caribbean chic with global/European style. I founded a local film and art festival and love my neighborhood, Flatbush/Brooklyn - I was born, raised and now am a property owner here! I love design, food and gardening. Oh! and I'm a media executive that is now doing her own thing which is great. Look forward to meeting you.
