Our newly renovated Mid Century villa in leafy St Johns Hill is quiet and sunny with a great outdoor space to relax in. There are two guest rooms available. Please search for The White House, Cherry Tree room if you need two rooms or a queen sized bed.
The Garden room has an adjacent guest bathroom which is shared with the Cherry Tree room.
The White House is only minutes walk from the beautiful Virginia Lake and an easy walk into town.

The space

Great for couples and singles

Guest access

We are happy to have you hang out in the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen with us if that is your thing or enjoy the garden and pavilion.

Interaction with guests

I am usually around during the day and I'm happy to help out with advice and suggestions to help you enjoy your stay in beautiful, historic Whanganui

Other things to note

The house is up a drive way and there are steps to the front door. My 87 year old mother handles them fine but best to be aware. Everything is flat once you are upstairs though.
We have a small middle-aged dog who is friendly, non shedding Maltese cross type. He will be happy to take you for walks around the neighbourhood.

Anne was very helpful. I thought this trip was for just me and my partner, then found out two days beforehand that a grandchild will accompany us. Anne was able to help us especially we arrive with two grandchildren instead of one.

We just had an amazing night at Anne & Roger's place. The house is lovely, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast more than we expected. Anne & Roger could not have been more welcoming, it was so nice to spend the evening chatting with them in their lovely garden. We will definitely look to stay here again should we find ourselves in Wanganui again. Excellent hosts!

Anne's house has been very lovingly restored and is full of attractive furniture etc. She and her husband were welcoming and interesting to chat with. Bathroom next door is lovely too. Anne also provided us with delicious breakfast. A great place to stay in Whanganui.

Anne & Roger both of them are very kind to us. Specially Anne gave us lots of tip about New Zealand life and varied circumstances. We appreciated a lot.
