Interaction with guests
We do not live on the mountain, but often are in Big Bear. We can answer questions by email and phone and try to be very responsive.
Other things to note
There is no residential trash service in our area. We ask our guests to take their trash to a near-by trash dump at the end of their stay on their way down the mountain. We also ask our guests to wash the dishes that they use before leaving the cabin. Pet fee: $20 per stay
Please provide accurate information about the number of guests and a brief description of who is in your group. We ask guests to take their trash to a nearby trash dump at the end of their stay. There is no residential trash pickup in our neighborhood. We also ask guests to thoroughly clean the dishes that they use during their stay. Guests are asked to leave before or at the checkout time so that our cleaner has time to prepare the house for the next guests. Pets must remain in the fenced dog run and deck, but are allowed in the 2nd floor (only) of the house at night. Do not allow pets to go down into the 1st floor or you may end up forfeiting your deposit.

I am a retired naval officer and teach graduate school at the University of San Diego. I have lived in France (graduate school) and visited about 40 far. I spend a lot of time sailing and also enjoy anything else that takes place out-of-doors. I have often hosted friends and strangers on my boat and at my mountain cabin. As such, as a guest I try to leave no footprint and respect the homes of others.
