Beautiful area

Slightly Off Retreat is a retro, packed to-the-hilt-with-extas, unicorn, kind of retreat. This 2bed apt's top bragging point is the covered porch with an idyllic view. So many East Nashville favorite spots are walkable blocks away and it’s 3 miles to heart of downtown. Unique touches from instruments to play and pay-it-forward beverages. Outside: fireplace in carport, tree swings & music stage in the yard! Guests describe it better than we can - so definitely read the reviews!

The space
East Nashville is diverse, eclectic and fabulous. Street-by-street is indeed different; there are quaint, quiet areas lush with trees; there are busy, areas close to bars; there are beautiful historic homes with lovely sidewalks; there are areas a tad more seedy than others. Slightly Off Retreat's location is a great bragging point: 'tucked away', yet still so close to the heart of it all.

Slightly Off Retreat sits next to historic Shelby golf course and backs up to a peaceful, quiet wooded area. Well, the owls make noise at night ;) Yet, the location is incredibly close in - 1 mile from Five Points and 2.5 miles from downtown.

Located on the bottom level of your host's home, "Slightly Off" is completely separated from the residence, with its own entrance, driveway and carport.

This adorable apartment features a full bath, 2 bedrooms with super comfy mattresses (queen bed & full bed), den with sectional, 1950s knottypine kitchen and its own laundry room. 4 people is typical, although 2 more can sleep in the den (queen airbed provided). You will find instruments, board games, books, mini pool table and more fun. The big screen TV has ROKU, Netflix, HULU, Amazon Prime, WiFi, DVD/VHS/CD players with movie library of classics. You can build a fire outside in the carport fireplace, and oh yes, 'The Little Hollywood Bowl' in the yard is completely unique fun for kids of all ages,

Entrepreneurs and artists abound on the East Side. Coffee shops, amazing restaurants, bakeries, bars and shops are walking and biking distance.

Shelby Park is a large city park next to our home. It features a public golf course, driving range, tennis courts, playgrounds, duck pond, ball fields, and walking paths. It is also part of our city's green way system with miles of green ways to walk, jog, or bike alongside the Cumberland River.

Guest access
Driveway, 2 car giant carport with outdoor fireplace and lower level of home is completely yours and securely locked from upstairs. You have a full utility room, kitchen, bath, etc. Owner lives upstairs with Jack-Jack, the spotted cat and Maple, a wild feral :) You may hear the cats running after each other above you, owls or coyotes at night, but otherwise this is a very quiet spot!

Neighbourhood highlights

What do we love about the neighborhood? Everything! Golfers should definitely take advantage of the course. Shelby Bottoms is a great wetlands nature walk - flat paths perfect for biking, walking, skating. As easy as it is to get around the city, you don't really need to stray from the immediate neighborhood. Wonderful restaurants and boutiques all around are doing an incredible job with masking, take-out options and distancing.

Yep, I was raised here. Wandered around -- lived in Los Angeles, Ireland, Hong Kong, Atlanta, etc -- settled back here in 1994 and love my city, especially the east side. Having a lot of fun hosting visitors and acting like a mini-welcome-wagon-chamber-of-commerce for this wonderful area :)
