An authentic stone house with a breathtaking view, a unique experience of historical revival in a calm. Original and romantic environment surrounded by lemon, citrus, pomegranate and palm trees facing the Aegean Sea.

The space
Our small village house is located on the shores of the beautiful Aegean sea facing the island of Chios in the village of Ildir (Ancient Erythrai). It is made out of the old stones which built the wall of the city of Erythrai 3000 BC, and which is now an open-air natural museum full of history. The house is situated over a lemon, olive and pomegranate garden and all its rooms have a full view of the sea. The patio overlooking the garden and the bay is fantastic at night under the moonlight. The house has 3 rooms fully furnished and 2 bathrooms equipped with a shower and also hosts one very small kitchenette area - appliances can be supplied if needed. The house is 50 m2 and the terrace is also 50 m2
We can host to 4 guests and 1 or 2 babies.
We have dogs and cats and we love people who love them.

Where you’ll be

Çesme, Ildır, Turkey

Right next to the house there are cafe's, restaurants, shops, fish market.
We have a few beaches over here. One which is just in front of our house is a very small one with sand mixed with antique stones. There are others, bigger ones, and some very special ones if you take your car. You can also dive in the sea, you can have trips to the inhabited islands and stay there for the whole day in the beach. When you swim here in the sea, you see the old city buried under the water. You can go to fishing with the fisherman, or walk to the small island to catch some sea-urchins to eat. So, if you decide to stay here, do bring your sea shoes because there is a small island to which you can walk in the middle of the sea on a very small path, but there are lots of sea urchins on the path so you have to have a sea shoe in order not to get hurt.. you can catch them to eat, oh my they are so (URL HIDDEN) the both side of the path you will have 15 to 40 meters of depth, with a city buried under your foot while you are swimming!
It is strictly forbidden to touch anything under the sea except the fishes!

For the last 40 years I have lived nearly all my life in between Paris-Brussels, and since few years we have decided with my husband to settle back to Turkey again. He is Belgian, and he loves the quality of life we live in Ildır as well as the calm and the possibilities of getting nearly the best of what nature offers..We were both in advertising business for years, and we love open minded, creative and interesting people..We love any kind of arts, history, and architecture as well as all kinds of music. I adore literature and philosophy. Movies and theatres for me is a must:-) We traveled a lot in our life time, my best destinations were certainly Venice-Costa Rica-Anguilla for not counting the rest. Personally I believe that each place has a soul and we like it or not, we have to respect it.
