About this listing
Come spend time skiing or golfing at Sugarloaf, snowshoeing or hiking local trails, hunting in the Maine woods, snowmobiling the ITS, or exploring nearby tranquil water.
Our 2 bedroom/1 bathroom house is the perfect spot for a family with kids (up to 8 total) or 4 adults! We will consider more than 4 adults in some cases. We do not charge more for children, so you don’t need to include them in the guest count for your inquiry. The house includes a large covered porch and an open concept kitchen/dining area with cathedral ceilings. Follow the pine staircase to the cozy living room loft for an evening movie on Netflix. One queen bed, two sets of bunk beds (with railings if needed), and a queen memory foam sleeper sofa provide lots of sleeping options. Washer and dryer are easily accessible in the full bathroom. The home and yard have complete privacy, with no other home in sight on the private road.
We will have fresh bed and bath linens upon your arrival. We have all dishes, utensils, cooking tools, and most appliances that you will need. You are welcome to use our wireless internet, DVD collection, Xbox Kinect, board games, Netflix, and Hulu account. Although we have gas heat as the primary source, we have a wood stove that you are welcome to use if you can do so safely. We also have a nice propane grill available for your use!
Interaction with guests
We would love to be in contact during your stay if you have any questions or concerns. We want your visit to be so easy and enjoyable that you'll want to return again and again. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions as you consider booking with us!
Our house is on a private road, which provides a quiet retreat from the world beyond. We have a handful of very friendly neighbors nearby.
Don't let the secluded lot fool you. When you stay here, you are within three miles of a full grocery store, a post office, gas stations, an art gallery, a summertime farmer's market, local restaurants, a hardware store, a library, a ski shop, and more! Kingfield has it all! Plus, you can easily make your way up to Grindstone Pond or Shiloh Pond for a completely peaceful nature walk. Don't forget, Sugarloaf Mountain and Resort access road is a mere 20 minute drive from your front door.
Other things to note
We have "hard water" at the camp, which means it can smell like sulfur at times, even though we treat it regularly. Showering and cooking are fine, but we suggest drinking purchased water instead. We have a water cooler that holds standard 5 gallon jugs, so you are welcome to bring along a jug (We try to keep a couple fresh ones in the closet). Even though we do try to provide some water to get you started, more water can easily be purchased at Tranten's about 4 minutes away.
We love our camp and we hope that you do too! We ask that you are respectful of our property, the woods around it, and our neighbors. Take a look through the notes for visitors upon arrival. If you have any questions about your stay, we encourage you to contact us.

We are a young couple living in the greater Portland area in Maine. We have two little girls under the age of two and a couple dogs. I am a 4th grade teacher and Tyler is a professional musician and the owner of The Sewing Machine Exchange in Falmouth. We are laid back and outgoing people. We care about the environment and love to build and refinish things on our own. We spend free time at our getaway home in Kingfield, Maine, reconnecting with the outdoors.
