Description

The space

Our 2 bedroom/1 bathroom house is the perfect spot for a family with kids (up to 8 total) or 4 adults! We will consider more than 4 adults in some cases. We do not charge more for children, so you don’t need to include them in the guest count for your inquiry. The house includes a large covered porch and an open concept kitchen/dining area with cathedral ceilings. Follow the pine staircase to the cozy living room loft for an evening movie on Netflix. One queen bed, two sets of bunk beds (with railings if needed), and a queen memory foam sleeper sofa provide lots of sleeping options. Washer and dryer are easily accessible in the full bathroom. The home and yard have complete privacy, with no other home in sight on the private road.

Guest access

We will have fresh bed and bath linens upon your arrival. We have all dishes, utensils, cooking tools, and most appliances that you will need. You are welcome to use our wireless internet, DVD collection, Xbox Kinect, board games, Netflix, and Hulu account. Although we have gas heat as the primary source, we have a wood stove that you are welcome to use if you can do so safely. We also have a nice propane grill available for your use!

Interaction with guests

We would love to be in contact during your stay if you have any questions or concerns. We want your visit to be so easy and enjoyable that you'll want to return again and again. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions as you consider booking with us!

The neighbourhood

Our house is on a private road, which provides a quiet retreat from the world beyond. We have a handful of very friendly neighbors nearby.

Getting around

Don't let the secluded lot fool you. When you stay here, you are within three miles of a full grocery store, a post office, gas stations, an art gallery, a summertime farmer's market, local restaurants, a hardware store, a library, a ski shop, and more! Kingfield has it all! Plus, you can easily make your way up to Grindstone Pond or Shiloh Pond for a completely peaceful nature walk. Don't forget, Sugarloaf Mountain and Resort access road is a mere 20 minute drive from your front door.

Other things to note

We have "hard water" at the camp, which means it can smell like sulfur at times, even though we treat it regularly. Showering and cooking are fine, but we suggest drinking purchased water instead. We have a water cooler that holds standard 5 gallon jugs, so you are welcome to bring along a jug (We try to keep a couple fresh ones in the closet). Even though we do try to provide some water to get you started, more water can easily be purchased at Tranten's about 4 minutes away.

We had yet another great stay at Allie & Tyler's cabin in the woods. Sugarloaf is a quick drive, and being located so close to the center of Kingfield is super convenient. Everything is super clean, and Allie & Tyler are very quick with communication. Our family of four is so comfortable here -- it's always our first choice for accommodations near Sugarloaf. Can't wait to go back!

After staying at your house, I know that I am going to move into an A-frame with a loft with my girlfriend when we buy our first house. If you are skiing Sugarloaf with friends, this is the best place you could stay. Grocery store is r 1.1 miles away, it is secluded cabin paradise. Loft gave us a place to hang out after shredding and watch a movie (great selection) we could all make food for ourselves, the beds were all made. 10/10 stay.

A great place to visit the ski area of Sugarloaf. The cottage leaves no wish open. Even in the very will equipped kitchen you'll find the basics (salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, oil,... ). The living room upstairs is a perfect place to relax, where you'll find books, DVD & a playstation (or something like that; I'm oldschool and read books & newspapers). To make a long story short: just perfect! Thanks a lot!!!!!!

It's a great cottage, really good layout, very secluded. Minimal traffic in the winter. All we could hear was woodpeckers and the silence of nature. Will definitely be returning!

We had a fantastic time at Allie & Tyler's place - super cozy cabin in a great location with lots to do (we came primarily to snowboard at Sugarloaf). Great with our two young kids, and Allie was in touch before and during our stay to make sure everything was running smoothly. Will definitely be back!

We are a young couple living in the greater Portland area in Maine. We have two little girls under the age of two and a couple dogs. I am a 4th grade teacher and Tyler is a professional musician and the owner of The Sewing Machine Exchange in Falmouth. We are laid back and outgoing people. We care about the environment and love to build and refinish things on our own. We spend free time at our getaway home in Kingfield, Maine, reconnecting with the outdoors.
