Looking for a modern, luxurious vacation home? This is not the property for you. Built in the 1800's, this very old home has a rustic feel, many describe the accommodations as "no frills". Its a large, open space in a prime location, I just like for my guests to know the condition of the property. Structurally sound, but could use some modern updates. Questions about this disclaimer? Adam was a wonderful host! His "Rustic Home on Cathedral Hill" was more than we were hoping for and exactly what we needed. The pictures do not do justice to the place, as it is more spacious and even more lovely in person. Definitely, would stay again. The home is rustic, it just has that old-timey feel that makes you feel like you have just returned home. It has all the modern amenities that you would want, A/C, updated and spacious kitchen and plenty of living space. You won't regret staying here!

The host, Adam, is the best part of this place. He's exceptionally responsive, and addresses problems within a couple hours or faster. That said, there's only so much one man can do to make the place welcoming when the owner (not Adam) of the property won't put the necessary funds into repair, upgrade, maintenance, and furnishing. The house is very large and very old. Everything creaks, the front door leaks water, sound, and air, and there is absolutely no insulation of sound from outside. People drive loud cars and heavy trucks down the street until the wee'st of hours. The air conditioning works well on the ground floor and poorly on the middle floor. The beds are all dorm-room quality. Much of the furniture is just a little broken. Lighting isn't what it needs to be. The dryer takes longer, with more heat than if I just hang-dry everything. I never got a good night sleep, and I will never stay in this house again. But I would stay at a better one that Adam takes care of.

This is a wonderful, old townhouse with high ceilings, wood floors, fully equipped, remodeled kitchen and a garage. The neighborhood is fantastic for walks. We stayed with our Australian Shepherd and managing her in the house and neighborhood was extremely easy. Adam is extremely helpful and responds to texts within minutes (and lets you know when he cannot be reached). I highly recommend both the host and the lodging.

This house is a quirky place with tons of room and a very amenable host. We had a mini family reunion here, at one point with seven adults and two babies. I would say we comfortably fit as well! Adam was very accommodating in making sure we had everything we needed - from pots and pans for extra leaves in the table to seat more of us. One thing I would note (not as a problem but just as an advisory) is that one of the showers is on the third floor, which was hard to access for older guests which just increased the number of people using the second-floor shower. Just something to note if you're staying with big groups. Another note about the property is just that there are several *different* parking restrictions on the surrounding streets (Adam provided parking, but this is just in case) so make sure you read each sign on each street carefully. The place is within walking distance to several great restaurants, a jaunt from the cathedral and in a beautiful historic neighborhood. I can recommend Red Cow if you're a beer and burger fan (who isn't?), The Louisiana Cafe for breakfast, and Nina's for artesanal coffee in particular. Overall, a delightful experience!

Awesome neighborhood that is walkable to some really great restaurants and pubs. The house is a great space with lots of room and everything you need. We loved that it was dog friendly, as we were a group of dog trainers attending a seminar in Minneapolis. Dining out on the deck with our dogs in tow was a perfect way to spend the evenings!
