Would definitely recommend staying at Cataratas! A beautiful getaway. The lodge was just as pictured and immaculately clean. Breakfast was great and there are quite a few local restaurants close by for dinner. Just note the driveway to the lodge has many potholes and is very bumpy. Also note that there is construction taking place next door which unfortunately disturbs the tranquility a little bit. Overall a great stay very close to the blue river.

My brother and I loved this place. Bijagua is a small town, and during the rainy season it was overcast the entire duration of our three day stay. That being said, the host brothers are incredibly welcoming and easy to talk to. They helped us with check-in, breakfast, and recommended an awesome trip to the Miravalles Volcano! They really only speak Spanish though, so just be aware of that. A couple of useful pieces of info. The cabin is in the wilderness. It feels more like camping rather than an apartment Airbnb. The cabin does have a refrigerator, lights, a fan, running water, and a toilet. ONLY cold water for showering! At least in our cabin. Awesome birds and wildlife all around you, which you can really hear at night. When you first arrive to Bijagua, look for the Frog's Paradise and Cataratas signs. This will help you locate the place easily. The sight itself is extremely nice and maintained well. Hope you enjoy!

Great place to visit with kids, I personally recommend visiting the Tenorio National Park / Río Celeste (awesome). There are some nearby restaurants, FYI you'll need a car and don't let anyone tell you different this cabins are FAR from the bus drop off, specially if you're coming with kids. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody that wants to visit the Rio Celeste park.

Great little cabin on a beautiful property. We were served wonderful breakfasts before our outings. I would highly suggest to someone wanting to get away from the hustle and relax.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was large, beautiful, and very clean. The small porch had two comfortable chairs for reading, relaxing, and watching the many colorful birds. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were gracious about accommodating our vegan diet.

Great place to visit. The landscape was beautiful and the birds were amazing! We loved our stay and enjoyed walking around the farm. The food was excellent - fresh picked - perfect farm to table experience. It was sad to see all the destruction in Bijagua that occurred due to Hurricane Otto; it was lucky, the farm was spared. The hosts are wonderful, but don't speak much English so it would be a great idea to be able to speak Spanish.
