Enjoy your stay at our bright and cozy guesthouse, a 10 minute walk to downtown and centrally located to the beach, redwoods and boardwalk. This studio is perfect for couples, solo travelers, 2-3 friends or a 3 person family. Includes queen bed, dining area, sitting area, 1 bath and full-size kitchen. Within a 3 block range, we also have restaurants, coffee shop and grocery store. Amenities include off street parking, High-Speed WiFi, separate entrance and patio overlooking a lush garden.

The space
This light filled studio apartment is located in the back yard of a historical Victorian near downtown Santa Cruz. It is cozy, smartly decorated, private and comfortable. Located behind a gate on a quiet street, the cottage features a large 350 SF room with a queen bed and flat screen TV, closet, dining table, 2 arm chairs, full size kitchen with all major and necessary appliances, a separate 100 SF bathroom, and covered patio.

The complete kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, sink, stove, toaster and coffee maker. It comes with all the dishes, pots and pans, utensils, serving ware, and flatware you need. Tea and coffee are provided.

The plush queen bed comes with new bedding and super soft 400 thread count sheets. The dining table seats 2. The flatscreen TV can be rotated to face any direction in the room and is approximately 26".

The separate bath has a stall shower and plenty of new, fluffy towels. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are provided.

The porch and patio furniture are perfect for morning coffee and bird watching in our native and lush landscape.

Our neighborhood is filled with some of the oldest Victorian’s in the City, including ours. This property was established in 1888. Your backyard guesthouse was built in 2006.

Our location to downtown makes entertainment and enjoying Santa Cruz so easy - within 10 minutes you have access to restaurants, shops, street performances, movie theaters, the Santa Cruz Museum of Modern Art, an organic grocery store, sauna and hot tub house, music venues and more.

Even closer to home, walk a few blocks to eat at Emily’s Bakery, Kopal oaxacan cuisine, Sabieng Thai, or Taqueria Vallarta. We are also only a few blocks from an organic grocery and health store, The Food Bin.

For the beach visits, we are 1 mile from the boardwalk and west cliff beaches and there are multiple bike paths to get you to the beach from our location. It is a 20 minute walk to the Boardwalk and 20-25 minute walk to Lighthouse Beach.

Our street is near the local high school and has teenagers hanging out on the sidewalks between classes and before/after school during the school year.

During your stay

We live here on property but will not interfere with your stay. Your guesthouse is completely detached from our main house and has a separate entrance. We will respect your privacy, but of course, are always welcome for questions.
