Aloha!

Enjoy your own room, with a kitchenette, private bath, and separate
entrance in our Manoa Valley home. We love our place because it has a rustic valley charm and respite from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, while being just a 10 minute drive from the action of Waikiki, Kaimuki, Kaka'ako, or China Town.

We welcome travelers from all backgrounds!

The space

We live in lovely wood paneled home in Manoa Valley, one of the safest and lushest neighborhoods you can find close to Honolulu proper. We have an incredible view of Manoa Valley (lots of rainbows!).

Our lanai (patio) is arguably the most awesome attribute of our home, and we look forward to sharing it with you. It's a great space for yoga, sunrise, sitting down with a cup of coffee and a good book, or watching our local band of parakeets play in the treetops at sunset.

Your room has a private entrance, private bathroom and your own garden-side sitting area. The space includes a desk as well as a full size bed. Guests have access to the washer & dryer on site. The room does not include access to kitchen/living room. Your room will include a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave.

Our home does not have an air conditioning system, but your room will have a portable fan included. Typically, our neighborhood has a nice breeze and is a pleasant temperature, but Hawai'i summer days can be notoriously warm. These steamy day make for great excuse to spend your day at the beach.

Our house runs on solar power, and we compost food scraps and recycle – and have provide the receptacles for you do the same during your stay. These small actions go a long way towards taking care of Hawaii's beautiful 'aina (land).

Guest access

Our guests will have access to our lovely lanai (aka deck) which looks out over the beautiful Manoa Valley. We may have surfboards available to borrow, and there will be beach chairs that guests are welcome to use!

Room does not include access to the common areas or kitchen of the main house, but does include a mini fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave!

Interaction with guests

We are a household of environmental professionals and a graduate student. We have dynamic schedules and may (or may not) be at home to greet you upon your arrival. However, we'll make a point to connect with you during your stay!

We are happy to help you discover the island, and share our list of favorite island experiences to share with you--including restaurants serving local food and great hiking and beach locations.

Other things to note

Our home is particularly well suited for students at the University of Hawai'i in need of temporary residence while settling in O'ahu, those going to a conference in Honolulu, adventurous travelers or environmentally conscious travelers who may want to join us on a hike or at a beach clean-up.

Tropical insects: If you leave your door open and/or food or soiled containers outside of the mini-fridge you will risk attracting insects into your room. These insects include ants, roaches, and mosquitos.

We had a wonderful time at Noah and Dorae's place -- it's a lovely spot in Mānoa, clean, cozy, windy at night, tons of cool Phelsuma on the plants outside. It was super nice to stay with such environmentally conscious hosts and we would highly recommend and definitely come back!

The view is absolutely stunning and is the best part of staying at this Airbnb! We spent two nights here and our room gave us a quiet, peaceful place to crash after exploring during the day. It's located in a quiet neighborhood that's perfect driving distance to everything you'd want to see. We had plenty of privacy and when we needed advice, Doorae was right there to tell us the best places to eat and hike. Waking up to make a fresh cup of coffee and sit on the lanai to watch the sunrise was the highlight of our entire trip! We highly recommend staying with Noah and Doorae if you're visting Oahu, you won't regret it.
