My place is close to Portobello Road, Notting Hill, Kensal Rise, Golborne Road. You’ll love my place because of the amazing location, all within a moments' stroll to the trendy Notting Hill area with its great restaurants, bars, boutiques and cafes, as well as the world-famous Portobello Road market. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

The space

Immaculate and modern large studio apartment available for your visit to London. The flat (32 sq metres plus patio) is a moments walk from Notting Hill's famous Portobello Road market. The area is very lively with an abundance of great cafes, local market, boutiques, shops, bars and quality restaurants. The full market is liveliest on Fridays and Saturdays with all of the market operating, there are sections for antiques, crafts, designer clothes and wares, souvenirs, lots of food, vintage clothing, many retro shops and a variety of stores, boutiques, cafes and restaurants which fill Portobello Road. A smaller market operates on the other days and of course, there are many great food vans and stalls serving a huge number of international cuisines. Westbourne Grove is also nearby and has many trendy boutiques, cafes and shops.

The apartment consists of a separate kitchen with dishwasher/coffee machine (you will need to purchase pods to use)/kettle/toaster/microwave/fridge/oven/stove and all cooking and dining cutlery. The modern bathroom has a shower and a full size bathtub to soak in. The large sun-filled patio space is perfect for relaxing with lots of seating and has been recently decorated. The apartment is fully furnished and has everything you would need for a short or longer stay in London. It would be suitable for either a single person, two friends or a couple. The living room/bedroom is a large space with a comfortable double bed, a large table for dining or working at, and a cosy living space with a sofa, armchair & tv. There is wifi in the flat. The flat is decorated with contemporary wares and trinkets collected from around the world. A washing machine with dryer is also available to use and a local drycleaner operates across the street. The local area has a large Sainsburys' supermarket within four minutes walk (open till midnight six days of the week) as well as two other smaller stores (Tesco & Sainsburys') in the local vicinity, and in the same block there is a 24-hour convenience store which has all the basics, as well as several food outlets and an off-license (to purchase alcohol or snacks). You can also buy lovely international food at the Portobello market, and there are several organic food stalls, as well as many excellent cafes and restaurants for brunch/lunch/dinner. If you require any beauty treatments I would recommend Swanky's on Portobello Road, they do excellent manicures and pedicures amongst other treatments.

My favourite spots to dine include Lowry & Baker (good brunch & coffee), Electric Diner, Pizza East, Falafel King, Honest Burgers, Hummingbird Bakery, Raoul's, Granger & Co, Fez Mangal (is a BYO alcohol place), Byron Burgers, Lisa's (Swedish cuisine), Polpo, The Rum Kitchen (Jamaican cuisine) and in the same building as the apartment is a great pizza shop, La Pia. There is also a great Portuguese patisserie Lisboa (best pasteis de nata outside of Portugal!) on Golborne Road, which also has an excellent food market on Fridays & Saturdays. Acklam Village which is right in the market has a bar inside an old garage and usually has live music in the afternoons, great for a relaxing drink!

My favourite spots to go out for a cocktail or drinks would be the Portobello (has a great happy hour for cocktails most early evenings), the Elgin pub (good food and has live music on various nights), Trailer of Happiness has a great vibe on Fridays/Saturdays with disco/hip hop/rnb music, Rum Kitchen is fun too as is Crazy Homies nearby (great margaritas and churros!), the Electric Diner has a nice bar with great drinks, American diner food & desserts, Beach Blanket Babylon is more upmarket. There are many pubs on Portobello and on the side streets off it where you can enjoy a drink and good company.

A few minutes wander in the opposite direction will bring you to the happening area, Kensal Rise. There are also some great restaurants around here including Shish Mangal, Sacre Cour pizza, the Shop, Eat Sushi (best for takeout or delivery) The Chamberlayne & Paradise. The best roast in the local area (in my opinion) is on a Sunday at Paradise by Way of Kensal Green - the food is phenomenal and they serve a great Bloody Mary and have an excellent wine list (have a look online - it is a bit pricey) - this place has a great night out on Saturdays with a good mix of popular music & old school tunes, make sure you arrive before 9pm as its £5 entry after, and better yet, email ahead to put your names on the door list so that you can get entry (gets crowded by 10/11pm), it closes at 2am on Saturday nights. have a look on their website for whats happening on other nights, they host lots of fun events!

There area has excellent transport links with bus stops right outside the building - one bus takes you directly to Oxford Circus on Oxford Street within 25 minutes where you will find all the great shopping London is known for! There are many connections to all over the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and to various parts of London. You can take a local bus to Westfield Shopping Centre (huge shopping mall with everything you want plus a cinema, restaurants and cafes) in Shepherds' Bush within 15 minutes. The flat is a 6 minute walk to Ladbroke Grove Tube station on the Hammersmith & City line and the Circle line, which will connect you to the entire world famous London Underground tube system! You can explore the many tourist attractions and sights on offer, the list is endless! It takes about 1 hour to 1.5 hours to reach Heathrow Airport by tube from Ladbroke Grove station. You can take a local bus to visit Kensington Palace & Gardens. You can visit the Palace which is very fascinating, my top tip is to have a look at the fashion exhibition! You can wander through the Gardens then continue onto Hyde Park which is connected by lovely walks. You can walk to Notting Hill Gate tube in 25 minutes or you can take a local bus there in 10 minutes.

In the other direction you can walk ten minutes to reach Kensal Rise Overground Station (or you can take the bus for 5-10 minutes) - this is on the Overground network which is separate to the tube (some stations maybe a tube station as well as an overground station - you will understand when you see the transport map which you can pick up at any of these stations). You can take the overground out to Richmond (20 mins journey) which is a beautiful part of London - there is a huge park to explore with deer! There are many nice lunch spots in Richmond and you can walk along the River Thames. From Richmond you can also take a train or a bus (another 1/2 hr to 1 hour journey dependent on connections) to Hampton Court Palace which is a fascinating place to visit (check transport & opening times online first) and has lots of history of Henry VIII! It is definitely one of my favourite places to visit.

You can take the overground to the Hampstead area which has a beautiful park Hampstead Heath. You can also explore Primrose Hill (fantastic view of the skyline of London) which is a short walk from the Camden area.

The overground network can also take you to Camden Road station in 25 minutes, where you can wander to Camden Lock (this is where the canal boat is which i mentioned above, you could take the canal boat in either direction), the Stables and the famous Camden Market (great cheap food stalls with many cuisines and lots of market stalls selling all kinds of wares!). Another few stops on and you will reach the trendy funky area of Dalston. Sometimes the StreetFeast (check online) is running at Dalston Yard, which is a big outdoor venue with 50 food vans and bars, which makes a fun way to get started on a night out in the area. Adjoining areas are Stoke Newington and Haggerston which also have a lot of bars, pubs and restaurants to visit - there is lots to explore in this area! Some of my favourites include The Fox, Three Compasses, Ruby's & Silk Stockings (for cocktails), Brilliant Corners (Japanese cuisine & good wine, turns into a bar later on), Birthdays (where i had my 30th birthday, good craft beer and it features the amazing Lucky Chip burgers! Bar restaurant upstairs, club/ live music venue downstairs), Chick n' Sours'. I also like a place called Passing Clouds which has a huge variety of live music and djs playing all genres. The Nest is probably one of my favourite clubs in the area as it plays mainly electro-house with great djs (check online, usually best to pre-purchase tickets). Kingsland road has a lot of good Asian restaurants.

There is a detailed guide in the flat with all the information you would need for the local area as well as exploring London.

Great stay at Liz's flat. Was exactly as described. Brilliantly located - short walk from Portobello St. Check-in process went fine and they worked around my crazy arrival time. The flat is lovely. It does get a bit noisy because of the trains but I would certainly stay there again!

Cosy & clean basement flat, very convenient for Portobello Rd area. It is adjacent to the train tracks but is surprisingly quiet and this didn't disturb me at night. Would stay again.

It's a nice apartment with one room giving to a terrace that's so close to the railway that you hear the passing trains every 10-15 minutes.

I'm a professional adventurer looking for fun everywhere i go, travelling the world and enjoying the journey!

I have lived in London for 10 years but am originally from Australia. My heritage is half English and half Indian (yes, its true!). I love decorating my flat, collecting vinyls, and shopping in vintage or retro shops. i also enjoy photography and travelling as much as I can. My home has a lot of things i have collected on my travels.

I love cooking and in particular like making Indian food. I also have a penchant for chocolate and red wine. I usually have a trip planned and love to offer tips and advice on places i have traveled, i also love hearing travel stories. My music tastes include lots of contemporary Jazz, soul, blues, hip hop, rap and r'n'b. I also love electro and house music and love to listen to vinyls in particular. i can definitely tell you about lots of bars/clubs that you may want to visit in London!

In the past year i have traveled to Romania, Iceland, Norway, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Italy, Montenegro, Scotland, US (San Francisco & NYC this trip) and Canada (Toronto & Ottawa).
