Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
My Shepherd's Hut is ten miles from Cambridge city centre, with easy access to the A14 and the M11 which will take you directly to London in an hour. Set in our three acre garden, the Hut is luxurious & self-contained accommodation in which you can enjoy your locally-sourced free-range english breakfast, and venture out to explore Cambridge and the surrounding area. Quiet & dark at night with delightful country views during the day. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers.

The space
The Hut is set in our lovely garden with its own garden area, complete with outdoor seating, barbeque and fire pit in the summer. Croissants, bread, tea and coffee are provided as are all the ingredients for a cooked breakfast if you wish (there is a hob in the Hut).
The Poacher, our charming, thatched pub, is less than five minutes walk away and there are plenty of good places nearby to eat and drink if you wish to stay local. We have a lovely Community Shop in the village if you wish to buy and cook your own supper rather than eat out. There are also two pubs, a hairdresser, and a family-run garage. Cambridge is the star attraction hereabouts, with all our beautiful and ancient city has to offer. Apart from the exquisite and historic Colleges, punting on the Cam and lots of quirky museums and Institutes, Cambridge boasts the Fitzwilliam Museum and lots of great restaurants, galleries, shops, two theatres and the Arts Picture House.

Guest access
There is ample parking at the top of a private lane. Guests access the Hut via their own path and are not overlooked by our Farmhouse. There is a small but ample private gravelled garden area for guests' use. Please be aware that the Hut is some three feet off the ground, with steps leading up to the door, so it is not suitable for the very young or those with mobility issues.

Other things to note
We have two dogs (a spaniel and a cockerpoo) who are friendly and curious and will probably say hello if they are out and about in the garden when you arrive. Our chickens (and one guinea fowl) roam free in the garden.
If we are not able to welcome you when you first arrive, there is a key safe bear the entrance gate to the Hut and the code will be sent to you by text before you arrive.

Location

Elsworth, England, United Kingdom

Elsworth village is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. We have a 1,000 year old church and the village is full of lovely thatched cottages. A brook runs through the picturesque centre. We have a thriving Community Shop selling good-quality basics (and some luxuries). There are two lovely pubs within easy walking distance of the Hut, and other good pubs and restaurants we'd also recommend within ten minutes' drive.

During your stay
I will welcome guests to the Hut but will give them complete privacy. If they have questions, either my husband or I are on hand and are very happy to recommend activities and attractions and where to eat locally or further afield.
