If you are looking for close access to an amazingly beautiful beach this is the place for you. So close if you forget something or need to use the restroom it's a very short walk away. The close proximity allows you to crawl out of bed and walk a short distance and enjoy the amazing sunrise. The outdoor shower, beach chairs and towels are an added perk. I loved all the windows that look out at the beautiful tropical garden on the patio. We are a family of 5, 2 adults 3 teens and we all fit really comfortably in the home to stretch out or take a break from each other. Two bathrooms and a washer/dryer are important to us so it was great to have that. There was also plenty of fans that kept everyone cooled off. The road is private, we felt very safe. Chuck and Shari are very friendly and available if needed.

Lovely beach house in beautiful Kailua. Beach is very near, beach chairs made our stat at the beach very comfortable. Easy to visit from here the rest of the island. Sharon makes you feel at home, the real aloha feeling!

We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage. Our hosts were helpful, yet unobtrusive. We have visited Hawaii 10 times and this was one of our best trips. Our hosts provided enough beach chairs and towels for our family of 5 to use. Kailua beach is a 1 minute walk down the street and is accessed through a private gate. If you forgot something or needed to use the bathroom, no problem! There is a tree at the end of the path which provides ample shade in the afternoon. The beach was never crowded, even on weekends. It is a perfect site for boogie boarding and body surfing, and we always saw a few surfers in the afternoon. Evening walks along the beach were wonderful, with the sea on one side, beautiful homes on the other, and shining stars above. We stayed there for 10 days with our three teen age sons. There was plenty of space for us. The master bedroom is private and there is a second bedroom with a large bed which can be screened off to provide privacy. There is also futon in the living room which can be converted to a bed. We spent a lot of time sitting in the private patio which is beautiful. (Pictures on airbnb do not do it justice). Big kudos for the outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Perfect for rinsing out the sand and salt and keeping it out of the house. It can get a bit warm inside in the afternoon (hey, it is the tropics!) but we just went to beach to hang out or went out for shaved ice. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed to feel at home, and a stackable washer/dryer was key to keeping our laundry under control! The two full bathrooms were great to have for our large family.

The location is AMAZING! You are just steps away from a private entrance that takes you right out to the beach. Our family loved the private lanai and openness of the house. We would definitely stay there again! Sharon was super sweet and available if we needed her. We had one minor appliance issue but I don't blame Sharon because if no one tells her, how was she going to know!

Hale Kai is quiet, private, and has its own lovely patio. This property is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to support your beach vacation, including chairs, towels, toys, and more! Hale Kai has one private bedroom and a second bedroom that is less private, but can be sealed off using folding doors. Parking is easy, which is a plus because I’m sure street spaces are scarce in this area. Gorgeous Kailua Beach is just a few steps away via a private gate. I couldn’t get enough of this beach, which offers 3.5 miles of sparkling clean sand, ideal for barefoot walking and swimming (no need for water shoes)! If you are fortunate to be there during a full moon, do not miss out on a moonlit evening walk! Shari was a wonderful host and welcomed us on our first day with a gorgeous bouquet of tropical flowers!

We had a fantastic time staying here. The place was perfect for just walking the few seconds down to the beach and cooking your own lunch and breakfast. Kailua is a fantastic little town that has everything you could need for staying, but is also a short drive to Honolulu (when its not rush hour) for other activities.

We loved being about thirty steps and a private gate from the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. We also loved spending time in the shade provided by the lush tropical plants in the private courtyard. Shari and Chuck were very responsive when we reported minor issues. We enjoyed getting to know them. There is a master bedroom with a king bed which is pretty private. There is another queen bed off the living room that can be closed off with accordion doors. Finally there is a double futon between the kitchen and dining room table. Those two beds don't get a lot of privacy, so go with close friends or family. The kitchen is a little narrow for more than one cook but well equipped. We made several meals at home. We were close enough to walk into town. If we were staying longer I would have rented a bike and not a car (though a car is great for sightseeing, groceries, and the 25 mile airport commute). All in all it was a wonderfully relaxing beach cottage to stay in and we hope to come back again.

Aloha! Feel the trade winds blowing, heavy with the scent of Plumeria blossoms, envision turquoise waters, and white sand beaches. Life has been stressful, you're ready for a beach chair, steaming mug of coffee, and sunrise over Kailua Beach. If you like action, you can windsurf, kayak or boogie board, or kite surf. We promise you the national #1 rated beach…the white sands of Kailua Beach. Adjacent to it, is Lanikai Beach. As you walk from your private accommodations, your picnic basket full of sparkling champagne or 7-up, papayas, mangos and pupus, you need only walk a few yards to the beach that will transport you to Paradise. The pristine water is preceded by spacious beachfront lawns leading the water's edge, iridescent in the afternoon sun. Go ahead, take a dip, the water is almost always warm. Too sunny, scoot your beach blanket under generous shade trees and pull out that novel you brought. If life's a beach, this is Hawaii's finest.
