My place is close to Nordic Center, Peak 8,Gondola, public transport, nightlife/Main St. Views from the hot tub are great; you see slopes during the day and snowcats at night. Nordic Center and xcountry trails are in our back yard. Beautiful. You’ll love my place because of the location, the views, the high ceilings, and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

The space

You are so close to mountain you never have to deal with the snarl of traffic and people at the beginning and end of the ski day in town, or with parking in muddy gondola parking lots, etc. We do not use public transportation much but this bus system is amazing, convenient, almost fun and takes the stress away from warming up car, parking, paying for parking everywhere now, etc.

Guest access

We are flexible and have 2 family room areas so plenty of privacy.

We try our best to give you a private bathroom whenever possible. Worst case, the bathroom has 2 entrances, 2 sink areas, etc so it still has a private feel.

Other things to note

Our garage is very heated, and has large carpeted area to put on your ski boots and leave ski equipment. You can ski across the adjacent lot to the ski bus and off you go. So we come and go through the garage and it works great.

Hutch and Julie were very hospitable I really enjoyed the stay. In regards to Alexis' review - she is way off base. Most of the statements she made were completely inaccurate and couldn't be further from the truth. For those not accustomed to Breck, this house is in an extremely desirable location, and yes, most homes in this neighborhood are 1mm +. The house is gorgeous and immaculately kept. There is parking available, which is a huge plus. A short walk through a small field (essentially one to two lots) and you are on Ski Hill Rd and are at the bus stop. Breckenridge runs a fabulous free bus transportation system. Hop on the bus and you are minutes away from Peak 7 & 8. Ski to the bottom of either peak and jump on the bus for a quick ride home. Couldn't be easier. Much more convenient than staying in town and having to use the Gondola. You can ride the free bus into town to enjoy all the nightlife Breck has to offer. For those that want a little more exercise after skiing all day, it is a nice walk (about 1 mile - down hill) into town. Walk, take the bus, or even Uber it - it couldn't be more convenient. Hutch, Julie and the boys go out of their way to make you feel at home. I look forward to visiting them again in the future.

Hutch and his wife were very kind, hospitable and smart. They gave us great advise and made us feel at home.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news and I'm not one to generally complain, but I did not find Hutch's place to be the million dollar home that was advertised despite the awesome location. First and foremost, Hutch was not around when I arrived, which was early. A woman was there who let us in early to change. While that was much appreciated, she barely spoke two words to us, didn't tell us the way to the ski gondola, which is supposedly pretty close. I guess I could have picked up this red folder that contained all that information, but I have no clue that was for our benefit. It was an unmarked red folder laying on a dresser inside the room. Hutch's assistant did not disclose the importance of the red folder either. So, I ended up paying for parking and driving back down to the Gondola. Zero communication. Lady didn't even tell me the cats names, which were super cute. I think the true problem here is that these people don't air bnb themselves, so they are unaware of the hospitality that is expected. The pictures were not as posted. There was a lock on the closet preventing use of hanging your clothes. This was not pictured and is deceptive. Point being, don't advertise your home as being accommodating just because of a location. better accommodations are expected- communication and please, oh, please, learn to wash towels with softener.

Response from Hutch:
Holy smokes, these 2 women were the first silent guests we have had (except for the morning argument we overheard). I agree, no communication and agree zero complaints as they appeared and disappeared without anyone seeing them. I was home when they arrived way way early as we had just given them directions yet again and where to park etc, and my wife then even went outside to their car and re-invited them into the house so they could drop off their gear, get changed etc as they were just sitting there. Mind you this is at 8am in the morning, many hours before they were supposed to be checking in. I was home most of the weekend including all of their saturday afternoon/night stay. I only saw one of them in the hallway, once. We were all in plain sight in the family room for hours at a time, often along with other air bnb guests, and alexis decided never to say hello which was fine with all us ... we figured they just wanted privacy and/or weren't feeling social. No problem. Meanwhile, we were literally visiting with other guests for hours, offering them food and drinks, having breakfast with them, giving them multiple private rides to the mountain ... these are air bnb guests that were staying here at the very same time (Jeff and his son Austin). Dozens of other guests, every other guest in fact, somehow also learns from us how to walk or ski 200 ft to the bus stop that has ski tracks leading to it from our house (which again is 2 stops to town or to ski area). How can you miss all that? Other guests staying here are laughing at this review but honestly it is a bit of a bummer as we want people to be happy. Anyway all this is weird and unfortunate but pls just ask us for any advice anytime ... read the reviews ... we bring people to town or ski area all the time, etc etc simply because we enjoy it and it is a 2 minute drive! We do lock that closet and leave many hangers out for clothing, thought this was normal protocol but i will ask air bnb and will specify in future. Thanks for advice there but we are far from trying to be 'deceptive', wow. Alexis also reserved for one person for one weekend night, but she was actually coming with a guest (deceptive) and i pointed it out but then told her not to even bother amend her reservation or pay the additional guest fee. We also didn't even know they left. Figured they were still upset over their prior argument, but they obviously disliked their stay on multiple fronts, and that really is too bad as we have been having lots of fun meeting incredibly friendly and kind guests from all over the world.

We had a really great time staying with Hutch and his family. The house is stunningly beautiful, very clean and cozy. Just a few steps away from a quick shuttle bus that takes you right up to peak 8 and back. 5 min drive to Main Street. The room has beautiful views with panoramic windows - lovely way to wake up in the morning. We also really enjoyed the spacious, heated garage where we kept all of our snow gear. And lastly, the brand new hot tub is such a nice addition, especially after a long day on the slopes! Our privacy was respected and we felt at home. If you're looking for a private bedroom in the comfort of a million dollar + beautifully designed cabin with high-end finishes and decor, with a perfect location, amazing views and also a wonderful host, I highly recommend staying at Hutch's place in Breck!

Beautiful home, great location, fabulous family, and super skiing (close by): bliss. Hutch and his family are great and friendly hosts and have a delightful house and two super cats * Instructions were clear on how to find the house, where to park, our room, wi-fi etc * Fab heated garage to store your shoes/ski/board gear; warm booties on cold mornings * The house is located just 5 minutes from the local bus stop (2-3 stops form peaks 8 and 7) so accessing the slopes is easy; ditto for Breckenridge centre * With two family rooms, you can decide how social you want to be * Lovely options for a (DIY) breakfast and a kitchen with all mod cons * Comfy bed with proper sheets (yup, am a sheet snob); good pillows Thank you!

Interaction with guests

We can socialize or not, really up to guests as it is their vacation. We are always available to consult re dinners out, transport, things to do in town, etc. We are sociable and friendly, but don't take it personally if guests just want to relax on their own.
