Traditional norwegian cottage in the forrest. Only 15 min from Trondheim Airport, but still a feeling of nature and peace.

Great view, located at south-east, sunny. Good chance of snow in winter. Acces with car on private road, unless too much snow.

No electrisity, and no running water. Solar lamps indoor. The host bring fresh drinking water in cans before guests arrive. Biological toilet in the outhouse.

Small bathroom with wash basin and shower corner. Camp shower.

Heating: Wood stove.

The space
The cabin is "off-grid". It has no electrisity, and no running water. The host makes sure there is fresh drinking water in cans in the cabin when guests arrive. The toilet is in the outhouse. In summer there is running water for washing etc. on the outside.

Heating: Wood stove. Lights: Solar lamps, candles and oil lamps.

Cooking: Gas stove, with both plates and oven. Fridge: Gas driven fridge.

Childrens bedroom is very small!

The cabin is located not far from the nearest farm, but there are no insight to the cabin from neighbours. There are no cars passing by. There are grassing farm animals, mostly sheep, in about 100 m distance in summer. Dogs MUST be kept on a leash in summer!

Guest access
Guests can use the whole cabin, and the area outdoor. Kitchen, living room, veranda, bedrooms. Small bathroom with wash basin and shower corner, but still no running water. Battery-operated camp shower and hot water in a bucket can be used. Toilet is old-fashioned outhouse.

Hot water is heated in a kettle on the gas stove, or on the oven.

Some toys and games for kids, and outdoor toys and equipment for kids can be borrowed.

Wood for the stove is in the shed.

Drinking water in cans.

Kitchen contains everything needed for about 6 persons, like glasses, plates, saucepans, cutlery, cooking utensils, etc.

Beds will be made up with clean linens before arrival.

Please leave the cabin in the same state as it was by arrival. Do the dishes and clean up after your self if needed.

Other things to note
There might be a few people walking by close to the cabin on the trail.

There is a military training field several kilometers away, and sometimes you might hear a rather faint sound of shooting guns. This is rare in evenings and weekends.

Location

Stjørdal, Nord-Trøndelag, Norway

Countryside in Norway. Farms and private homes not far away, but around the cabin you will mostly se forrest, fields, hills and mountains.

The Mountain "Strætasfjellet", 438 m above sea level, is ca 4-5 km of walking away from the cabin. From the top of this mountain you have a great view over Stjørdal, the valleys and the fjord. Recommended!

Host owns land by a small lake about 900 m away where it is possible to take a bath in summer (the lake is very deep all over so you MUST be able to swim!) or do some fishing.

Nearest grocery is in Hell (!), 11 km away from the cabin. We also recommends Hell Shopping Center (!), 13 km away. Here you can find a pharmacy and different shops, and a gas station. Hell also has a popular train station, and a beautiful little beach, Hell beach, well suited for bathing with small children because of shallow water.
