In the heart of vibrant Bermondsey Village, moments from London Bridge, Tower Bridge & The City, my apartment is fully furnished with spectacular views of London & perfectly located to visit London on business or pleasure.

On the top floor of a private, peaceful, gated community of Grade II listed & contemporary buildings dating back 200 years, my home has a comfortable lounge diner, fully fitted kitchen, double bedroom, en suite bathroom & west facing balcony for sunny afternoons & sunsets.

The space
The apartment location and the views over London are just amazing. The London skyline changes constantly throughout the day. The floor to ceiling windows and private balcony are west facing allowing us to enjoy sunny afternoons, dramatic sunsets and London's light show at night.

Maltings Place is a private, gated, peaceful community with a mixture of Grade II listed and contemporary buildings originally dating back over 200 years to 1814 when it was originally a leather works and then subsequently became the home of the Sarson’s Vinegar Factory. There are a few small, predominantly designer, internet and architect businesses located within the Maltings community which makes for an interesting and exciting yet quiet place to live.

Our home has large floor to ceiling windows which allow the views of London to flood in with complete privacy as we are not overlooked. Just slide the glass door and step right out onto the private balcony and enjoy.

When you are sitting at the dining table, or out on the private balcony, you will able to see The Shard, The London Eye, City Hall on The South Bank, Walkie Talkie and The Gherkin across the horizon.

The bright lounge area has a comfortable sofa, armchair, soft furnishings, smart digital TV with over 700 tv, radio and music stations and complimentary wifi.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make you feel at home. You will find an electric hob and oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer in the kitchen area along with a microwave, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. There is plenty of cookware and utensils for your use. In addition to this, there is also a washing machine and dryer along with an iron, ironing board and clothes airer.

The bedroom has subtle lighting, a double bed with fresh, crisp bed linen, wardrobes with shelving and a hair dryer.

The en suite bathroom has a shower and heated towel rail with super soft towels and toiletries.

There is underfloor heating throughout that can be controlled by thermostats in the lounge and bedroom.

The apartment is open plan but we can provide bedding for the sofa bed located in the lounge for two additional guests if required at a small additional charge.

We would like to think that our home would be your home for your stay and you will have access to the whole apartment exclusively.

You can access The Maltings either via the Tower Bridge Road or Tanner Street gates.

Also, if you are wishing to park for more than 5 days, let us know and we will see if we can negotiate a better deal for you.

To gain access to the Maltings Car Park, you must turn left off Tower Bridge Road onto Druid Street and immediately left on Roper Lane under the tunnel and into Maltings Place. Neighbourhood highlights

We are located in the heart of Bermondsey Village which was voted as the best place to live in London by The Sunday Times in March 2018. It is a central London neighbourhood that is full of life and character.

We love to walk in London and if you want the best London experience then you couldn't be better located in our opinion to leave our place, turn left to Tower Bridge, Tower of London, The Southbank and The City or turn right down Tanner Street to Bermondsey Street and all of its coffee shops, pubs and restaurants and then onto London Bridge and The Borough Market or go to the other end of Tanner Street to Maltby and Druid Street Markets

The South Bank - riverside
The Southbank is about a 5 minute walk with Tower Bridge, Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, The London Eye and pretty much a different event every weekend along the banks on the River Thames. The Scoop has many free events and is next to City Hall.

Bermondsey Street
Right on our door step is Bermondsey Street which is the heart of the village and is a vibrant area with great venues including B Street Deli (small but perfectly formed which is great anytime from breakfast through to supper), The Garrison (excellent food and beer and more of a restaurant than a pub), Woolpack which is a great Young’s pub with superb beer, food and wine list. Along the street is The Fashion & Textile Museum and Café founded by Zandra Rhodes, Jose (small Tapas Bar is always busy), Franco Manca Pizza (great pizza to eat in or take out), White Cube Gallery (quiet, cultural, cool), Hide Bar (great cocktails), Tanner & Co (live bands at weekends), Village East (love it) and Casse-Croute is on the corner of Tanner and Bermondsey Street which is a small all day bistro so book early.

There are breakfast cereals, milk, croissants, fruit, snacks and other goodies for you to enjoy…please help yourself. If you fancy an amazing cup of coffee and breakfast, go to one of our favourite places around the corner at B Street Deli, 88 Bermondsey Street. All of the staff are lovely and it’s a unique place to start the day.

There are over 90 restaurants and pubs within a couple of miles; 6 parks within 1/2 mile one of which is adjacent to Maltings in Tanner Street with free tennis courts; 5 London Underground Stations within walking distance and several London Buses running past the front door. There are also about 50 TfL Bikes outside the front door if you fancy cycling which you can rent (first 30 minutes are free). The Dockland Light Railway is up by Tower Bridge and if you fancy something different jump on a River Bus, Taxi or Cruise which are also nearby.

Bermondsey Beer Mile
If you like beer then you must go on the Bermondsey Beer Mile Tour. It’s more than a mile but best attempted on a Saturday and starting at Southwark Brewing Company, Maltby and Druid Street Markets. Others include Anspach & Hobday, Bullfinch Brewery, Bottle Shop, Brew by Numbers, Kernal (the original Bermondsey brewery and shuts at 1400h), Partizan Brewery, Fourpure, and EeBria Taproom.
