Warm, light and beautifully designed, our Amazing Eigg Shed is a great place to relax and switch off from the hustle and bustle of mainland life.

Eigg is a beautiful island with spectacular beaches, wildlife, archaeological sites, interesting geology and a vibrant island community. The island is very popular with landscape and wildlife photographers.

The space
Our Eigg Shed is great for couples, small families or good friends looking for simple relaxed accommodation.

It includes a Hobbit wood burner, a comfortable double bed settee and single bed with the option of a travel cot.

With a French door on the front and a 3-part bi-fold door on the gable end, this is a very light and airy space commanding wonderful views over Eigg to Roshven, Moidart, Arisaig and further.

The kitchen, toilet and shower are next to the shed and all have a very low carbon footprint without sacrificing comfort. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove and oven, fridge, sink with hot water and storage. The bathroom has a hot shower.

Dogs are welcome at The Eigg Shed.

We provide all bedding, shower and hand towels, tea towels and toilet paper. It would be advisable to bring a pair of indoor shoes so that you can move easily between the Shed, kitchen and toilet without having to put your outdoor wellies/boots on.

Guest access
The Eigg Shed is conveniently located for the ferry pier, shop, tearoom/bar and craft shop.

The island is small enough to be able to walk most places. Although you can't bring your car, you can bring bikes on the ferry, or hire them from Eigg Adventures.

Check in time is at 2.00 o'clock and we ask our guests to check out at 10.00am prompt so that we can prepare for the next guests. Sometimes we can arrange a later check out time, but we will let you know.
Please let us know which ferry you will be arriving on. There is a ferry all year from Mallaig: look at the Caledonian Macbrayne timetable and in April to mid- September there is a ferry from Arisaig: Look at the Arisaig Marine website for the timetable. The sea can sometimes be rough between Eigg and the mainland particularly between November and March and sometimes even in the summer, so ferries are sometimes cancelled. We recommend you take out travel insurance, if you don’t already have it, to cover any costs incurred due to travel problems. The day before and the morning of travel to Eigg, please check Cal Mac’s service status or phone Arisaig Marine in case there have been any changes.

Other things to note
The Eigg Shop is well stocked and groceries can be ordered in advance through the Eigg Shop and delivered to the shed for your arrival. Galmisdale Bay cafe, bar and restaurant is located at the pier, and Lageorna Restaurant in Cleadale provides exceptional evening meals, although you must book in advance and the service is limited in the Winter.

Have a look at the Isle of Eigg website for more information about the island.

We are farmers on Eigg and Lizzie teaches part time in the local primary school. We both like walking and being outside and came back to Eigg 11 years ago. Having a chance to lease a farm in such a beautiful place was like a dream come true. Alex is very keen on landscape photography and Eigg presents views that are always varied and among the most beautiful in the world. People who come and enjoy the hospitality of Eigg say it is never long enough, so often come back.
