Located in the beautiful neighbourhood of Kolonaki in the centre of Athens, my two-bedroom flat is surrounded by stylish restaurants and bars, fashionable boutiques, museums, and it is only a ten minute walk away from Syntagma Square. This flat has been in my family for four generations, and its interior features a mix of antique and modern furniture that makes for a unique experience.
This is a 90 square-meter bright flat with a large lounge that integrates living-room and dining-room, two large double-bedrooms, a bathroom (with bath/shower, toilet and bidet), a separate WC, a small but fully equipped kitchen, an entry hall, and small storage room for luggage. The interior décor features a mixture of modern and antique wooden furniture. It has 3m high-ceilings throughout, parquet and marble floors, and large windows on both sides. It is comfortable and well-climatised with central heating in the winter and air-conditioning in the main bedroom in the summer. Both bedrooms have window-doors opening on a balcony facing a quiet interior courtyard, while the large (double-glazed) lounge windows open onto one of the most vibrant streets of Kolonaki. The flat has wireless internet and a laptop-ready workspace.
The location could not be better. The flat is situated at the corner of Ploutarchou and pedestrian-only Charitos street, within walking distance from all of Athens’ main touristic attractions, including Kolonaki Square with its cafes and elegant shops, the exciting streets of Plaka, the Akropolis and ancient archaeological sites. On your doorstep you find stylish restaurants, fashionable bars, and cafés which offer free Wi-Fi to customers. There are also food-shops, wine-shops, patisseries, dry-cleaners, hairdressers, pharmacies, and banks. The splendid Benaki Museum is just a five-minute walk away.
The flat is about five minutes from the metro station ‘Euangelismos’ and ten from the major hub of ‘Syntagma’. It is well connected to the airport via the metro. Alternatively, an Uber ride to/from the airport costs 29 euro. Standard taxis are always available just outside the main entrance. The building is equipped with a lift and has a concierge (who is there during normal working hours). This is my family-home and I love staying here when I am in Athens. The flat is ideal for one or two couples, a family, or a single person visiting Athens for work or leisure. It can host up to 8 people in its two double-bedrooms (one of which can be used alternatively as a single or double-bed), comfortable double sofa-bed in the living-room, and two single foldable camp-beds. The kitchen has an oven and a four-piece hob, extractor fan, large fridge, dish-washer, microwave and full set of cooking utensils, dishes, and cutlery. There is no TV. It is strictly non-smoking.
- Please treat this apartment as if it were your own. Please remove any garbage and wash your dishes, glasses, or cooking pots before departure, and leave the fridge empty of perishable foods and vegetables.
