Outdoor entertainment

The firepit, alfresco dining, BBQ area and outdoor seating are great for summer trips.
Quirky & spacious, the lovely Old Angel enjoys pride of place in the Medieval Square of Axbridge. Near renowned Cheddar Gorge & in easy reach of Bristol, Bath, Wells & Glastonbury, it's in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Somerset Mendip Hills, with stunning countryside on the doorstep. Airport, coast, culture & heritage sites all nearby. Wood-burners, arty charm, large secluded terraced garden. Guests have exclusive use of the entire house.

The space
Once a 15th Century inn, this Listed house combines history with contemporary comfort. Ideal for relaxing get-together's, it's a real home-from-home, given a 5 star thumbs-up by all our airbnb guests.

Artisan and eclectic in style and decor, there's an emphasis on up-cycled, reclaimed, hand-built & vintage to add to its character.

Hidden away from the house, steps lead up to large rambling 'hidden' garden with church tower views. This is a mature garden with several terraces, slopes, steps, so only suitable for supervised youngsters.

En route you'll pass the Little Angel apartment at the rear of the house. This has its own independent entrance. Very occasionally a working friend (wildlife photographer) stays there; this won't affect guests privacy & the lower level Mediterranean style courtyard/outside dining/BBQ area and entire garden with seating areas on terraces, are all yours to explore.

There's ample indoor space to relax & gather together in the large kitchen with wood-burner & in the upstairs living room overlooking the Medieval Square.

Spread over three storeys, with 5 bedrooms/6 beds, the flexible accommodation happily suits either small or larger numbers of up to 9 guests. - though we can accommodate a 10th with a comfy pull out bed in the master en-suite bedroom.

Just step outside to enjoy Axbridge's two great pubs, tearoom & coffee shop, the Museum, cycle path/walkway and nearby reservoir. There's a good variety of inns, restaurants, cafe's and eateries throughout the area. Not to mention those famous cream teas, Farmers' markets, cider tasting farms & character foodie pubs!

Guest access
Entrance is directly off Axbridge Square, where you can park & unload.

The terraced secluded back garden is accessed by steps. (You'll pass Little Angel annexe at the rear of the house -a photographer friend might occasionally stay, but this won't impact on your privacy) .
