Strand House is a characterful property built almost 200 years ago, five minutes from the long, magnificent sandy beach at Overstrand. It’s ideal to recharge your batteries in the autumn and winter, in front of the wood burning stove after enjoying bracing beach and country walks, evenings in country pubs, hearty healthy meals at top class restaurants and the cleanest air in the country!
There's something enchanting about the Norfolk coast in winter and this is the ideal place to stay
Our guests will feel very comfortable and relaxed in this lovely house, and pretty garden. There are two living rooms – our winter room, with TV and log burning stove for cosy winter nights, and our summer room, which leads out on to the patio area and looks out over the garden. The summer room has a dining table (which comfortably seats six) and space to work at a computer (if you really need to!), while there are sofas and excellent music systems in both rooms.
The kitchen is well equipped with a full-size fridge/freezer, gas hob and gas oven plus dishwasher and a double sink, along with plenty of utensils and dishes, crockery and cutlery. The downstairs toilet also houses the washing machine.
Upstairs, there’s a spacious bathroom, with a new electric shower. The twin-bedded second bedroom has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. There’s a king-size bed in the large master bedroom, plus plenty of hanging space, a chest-of-drawers and a dressing table as well as another audio system (we do love our music!).
There is also an undercover area by the house – great to sit in wrapped up in warm clothes, and look at the stars at night! By the side of the house is an off-street parking area for two vehicles.
The house, cabin and garden are all for you to enjoy on your holiday. The only exceptions are the small room and cupboard downstairs where we lock away some personal possessions when we aren’t there.
Interaction with guests
We won't be at the house when you arrive or are staying here but we will be in contact either via email or text shortly after you arrive to make sure that everything is ok. Entry will be via a key-safe and there will be plenty of information about the house, plus contact details for local people should you need anything and who will probably pop round in your first day or two to make sure that everything's ok.
- Overstrand is a quiet village, and we live in a quiet road, so please take this into consideration.
