This self catering apartment gives a boutique hotel feel on a budget price. The apartment is ideal for a short stay , but well suited to accomodate the extended stay guests who need a bit more space than just a room . Now equipped with keyless entry and integrated smoke/CO2 detectors this space provides superior security and piece of mind.This 500 sq ft upstairs apartment is located in an older urban core working class neighborborhood close to the Interstates and downtown and only 5 minutes from the Trendy Riverside area and 10 minutes to Upscale Avondale/Ortega area. A new 120 square ft deck was completed in June 2017 and offers a treetop spot to relax and enjoy! Located on a quiet street this apartment will provide superior comfort during your travels through Jacksonville. The apartment is best suited for 2 guests.Unfortunately there is not sufficient space for additonal people or bedding. I do not offer cribs as this is an adult only space .Please no hate mail,smug comments or similar as a squalling baby has ruined many a guests stay. A pet (one only, not two or more)is now accepted with a non refundable pet fee of $50.00 per stay up to a one week stay. Please inquire for pet fees longer than one week and please advise me you have a pet before booking as I have to extend a special offer to include the pet fee.Pets must be crated if the guests leave the apartment . I do offer an additional downstairs unit listed as "Cozy apartment part Deux" that will also accommodate 2 people so this can work for two couples or 4 people traveling together. It has the exact same floor plan and is equally well appointed. Please note my maximum occupancy is 2 people per unit. Please no third party bookings. If the person staying in my unit is not the person on the reservation I will report to Airbnb and cancel the reservation.
This apartment is the whole upstairs of a small duplex. A new 120 square foot deck was added in June 2017! Our guests will have full access to the fenced in yard out back of the apartment. I have a downstairs unit now online listed as" Cozy apartment part Deux "so this is a great option for larger parties or families traveling together. The yard is privacy fenced in, offers a fire pit, seating and a chaise lounge for sunning or relaxing.
Interaction with guests
I will try to meet and greet all my guests on arrival however guests may self check in with electronic key codes in the event for very late arrivals or if I have to venture out of town. I would be happy to do a video walkthrough if I cannot meet you in person so I can explain the amenities, features and location of everything.
Other things to note
The area is very culturally diverse and if you feel uncomfortable around people who may differ from your religion, color, sexual orientation or socio- economic status this area will more than likely not be the best fit for you. This is not a new part or town or a gated community and no we are nowhere near the beach. I presume all guests have looked at the map and have read all details of what to expect and what not to expect in this area. I live 3 blocks from the unit and would not live anywhere else in this town! Urban means in the city and consequently you may hear traffic, trains sirens etc all the things one would expect in an urban area. I assume positive intent that all my valued guests have read the pertinent details and have aligned their expectations accordingly. Please leave pertinent feedback regarding the space and my service. Comments about things outside of my unit like traffic, neighbors, sirens etc are all beyond my control. If you ready my whole listing you will get exactly what is listed here!
I expect my guests to be respectful of my space and take care of it as their own. This is a non smoking apartment, however you may smoke on the patio outside or in the back yard seating area .Any major damages will be reported to Air B-n-B. I expect ladies and gentlemen to act as such and to be aware that possible downstairs clients may not appreciate loud talking, loud tv or loud anything after 10 PM as they may be sleeping or relaxing . Common courtesy is the rule! No multiple pets!
I am a 57 year old man who has been employed in the hospitality industry for the past 35 years. I am recently retired from working for Amercian Express travel. In my off times myself and my partner have 9 rental units in addtion to our own home which keeps us very busy. In our free time we are both avid travelers and have been to Iceland, Ecuador, Panama, Dubai ,London, Lisbon and Barcelona in the past few years just to name a few and travel often to Maine and Pennslyvania to visit our respective familes and also take other short hops around the US.
