It is a nice room with a private bathroom with a tub. A full size posturpedic bed is nice and comfy. This is 200+ year old hotel, so if you like old house i can show you some special things. On another note, this is a very convenient location on ny state highway 23. Impossible not to find and 12 minute from walmart, 14 from Oneonta. This area is fun because you have cows, horses, sheep and chickens and right to next to small artsy-fartsy college town that has that city fix if you need it

The space

The building is a 200+ year old hotel. It has big timbers and logs for a frame which I can show to those interested, but it also is very modern inside with plenty of outlets

Interaction with guests

If you are happy I am happy... if you want to be left alone fine, If you wanted guided tours of stuff that is okay too

Nice view, super quiet! Lots of interesting art. Even had a personalized message left in the front door to welcome us :)

Bills place was an inexpensive alternative to stay close to Cooperstown. According to description it’s being renovated. The room we stayed in was clean. The bed was quite comfy- and I am super picky about beds! Our phone was broken and some letters weren’t working but Bill still managed to read our communications and respond promptly. We really appreciated that he accepted our request 3 hours before we arrived! The Baseball Hall of Fame is about 30-45 minute drive. Most places near by are 150.00+ so we also appreciated an affordable place to stay. Accommodations basic and sufficient. Thanks!

If you are looking for a place out of the ordinary and appreciate saving about $100 per night over nearby hotels, this is a good find. This is a 200 year old hotel that is still being updated. If slightly slanted floors don't bother you- and might even be part of the appeal, you have come to the right place. The host is an artist and his art hangs everywhere. Check in is easy and Bill the host, is very accomodating. Pros: its cheap, clean, updated bathrooms, easy to find, wifi. Cons: no a/c and cold nights you might need to turn on the provided space heater Sound-wise, the walls are THIN ! If this is a hotel, theres no tv... if its a b&b, there was no breakfast (although there was coffee- (Bill, get some sugar!) We were there for one night. I thought it was fun and a good deal. My wife didn't really care for it much, but my 15 year old son thought it was fun and interesting.... All in all, I have stayed in much worse places for a lot more money.

This place is in an old hotel. As the photos show, the place is dated, but inexpensive and clean. Check in and check out was a breeze. Nice field out back for the dog. Air conditioning nice and cold. Kitchen available for use. Price can't be beat.

I am an artist and I live here with my long time girlfriend Deborah Gomez... We cam here looking for a vacation place and ended up with a 200 year old Hotel. The place is pretty big and it wants to have people staying here. It is an interesting old building with big timbers and wide plank floors, but yet has a lot of modern stuff as well. We are right on nys route 23 a main highway, 10 minutes to a walmart 14 minutes to Oneonta, and 40 minutes from Cooperstown. Stay here you will like it here.
