Easy reach of galleries, museums, conference/event/concert/exhibition venues.

The space
The apartment is on first floor level of a 3 storey traditional building built during the mid 1800s.
All rooms are light and spacious, decor is bright and furnishings are comfortable. The kitchen is internal and laundry equipment and fridge freezer are in the adjacent utility cupboard.
The apartment is on a wide street with free parking directly outside.

Other things to note
The upper 2 floors of the building are purpose built Victorian era apartments while at street level are the well run commercial enterprises of this vibrant Conservation area.
We have been welcoming guests to Strathbungo for a number of years, since before the advent of airbnb, and give high priority to the safety of our guests exceeding airbnb requirements! The apartment has professionally installed mains powered smoke alarms in every room and most importantly an annually up-dated GAS SAFETY CERTIFICATE for the gas central heating boiler and the gas hob in the kitchen carried out by a Certified Corgi Engineer - a requirement in Scotland for all rented property.

Strathbungo was designed and laid out as one of the first garden suburbs in the city by the famed Glasgow architect Alexander “Greek” Thomson and has an up-beat village feel with a friendly, welcoming vibe offering a great choice of relaxed local bars and bistros.
Our favourite bistros are featured in the photographs, Bungo and The Salisbury are within a minute walk and Ollie’s, Gusto and Relish and Mulberry St are each a 3 minute walk.
In the local area food and supplies shops are open early till late from Sainsbury’s Local 4 minutes walk, M&S Simply Food 7 mins to many local shops close by. Morrisons supermarket is a 4 minute drive away.
There is a huge choice of specialised, general local shops and takeaways within 2 minutes. On Pollokshaws Road are many general stores and Chinese, Indian, Italian, American and Fish & Chips takeaways. On Nithsdale Road Locavore shop & deli focuses on low carbon food miles and local organic produce, Zucchini is an old-fashioned style greengrocers (the world before supermarkets) and William Cranston butcher established for over 130 years are right next door to Ollie’s bistro, further along is Rowlands pharmacy and opposite is florist Floral Haven and a Greggs bakery.
A 4 minute walk from the apartment is Queen’s Park with 148 acres of green space with a network of tree lined paths, duck pond, panoramic views over the city, glasshouses with exotic plants and animals, play areas for children and tennis courts.
The Tramway performance/arts venue, café bar and The Hidden Gardens community greenspace there are open to all, a walk of under 10 minutes away, and right next door to Scottish Ballet’s HQ.
All Glasgow’s museums, galleries, exhibition/sports/music venues are easy to get to by local transport – Hampden for major sport events, concerts and exhibitions is closest to the apartment, 1.5 miles away, under 10 minutes by car or taxi.
Glasgow now has Uber taxi service and many good local taxi firms are available in Strathbungo too. Uber quotes £12 - £16 for a journey to the apartment from Glasgow Airport just 17 minutes away and for a journey to the apartment from Glasgow Central train station £4 - £6
