We've thought long and hard about how to respond to this review. We're in disbelief and simultaneously amused. The review written here is not how our previous 25 AirBnB guests have experienced our loving home. We really hope this irrational review does not put other people off from visiting our beautiful home. Please read on below if you'd like to hear our response) This is our family home, which we live in. We are so proud of the work we have done to build a beautiful and modern house. We take so much pride and care in our house we are quite hurt by this review. We've recently spent over $100k renovating our home. The renovation of the interior of the home is 100% finished as you will be able to tell from the photos. We've hosted over 25 guests in our private room through AirBnB and everyone has been so complimentary of our beautiful home. We are currently rated as 5-star hosts for our other listing. So this is quite a drastic swing in the other direction. We are currently going through the process of painting the exterior of the house. I can imagine when Kames saw this he might have been surprised. But the exterior painting has not affected the interior experience of the house. We haven't even started painting the house yet - we are still only stripping the paint off the house. The 'dead chicken' story makes us sound like some sort of deranged voodoo people. The reality is that it was the rubbish day when the guests arrived. The next door neighbour had put his rubbish out on the street – as people do on the rubbish day. It was unfortunate that his rubbish must have stunk – this rubbish, however, was outside the next door neighbours house on the main road a long distance from our house. The street we live on is one of the widest streets in Wellington. It is also one of the quietest. There is so much free parking available on the street – if the park directly in front of our house is not free there are parks left and right of this. I think maximum you would have to walk from the car to the house would be 20m on a flat street. Our beautiful Beagle puppy Charlie, lives with us in our home. We're not some creepy dog owners who fester in their dog's mess though. We make a concerted effort to vacuum our house more than one would usually to ensure we keep the house as clear of dog hair as possible - because we don't much like a dirty home either. But we do have the cutest puppy dog so it's not uncommon to see some dog hair from time to time! We'll definitely leave more space in cupboards, wardrobes. and the fridge for people to store their belongings whilst staying in the future too.
