Nice clean comfy place to stay. Ten minute walk to the tram and about 25 walk to the centre for bars and restaurants etc. Used the tram once, easy and efficient.

John's place is a lovely little two bedroom house in a quiet residential area. It is super clean and he has thought of everything to make it comfortable. It is very handy to get to all the tourist attractions, about 15 to 20min walk into town, but there is the Luas and bus stops close by. It is also close to Phoenix Park. John wasn't available to let us into the house, so he arranged for his friend to meet us, who was very friendly and helpful with tips about local places to eat. The communication with John was easy throughout the whole booking process and during our stay. We would certainly stay at John's place again! He is a superb host.

Cosy house, close to the park and 15 minutes to city centre. John was very friendly and helpful.

John met us when we arrived and gave us a warm and informative welcome. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and all to a very good standard. John also provided some basic provisions to get us going and they were most welcome. The location at first seemed a bit out of the way but that proved to be so wrong. Only a 5 to 10 min walk to tram and bus stops (hop-on hop-off as well which was worth doing). That also gets you to the River Liffey where you are then less than 20 min walk from the Temple Bar area. We chose to walk everywhere - for example to the Guinness experience just south of the river from John's airbnb. Anything else is on the hop-on hop-off bus route. Dublin is a bustling, noisy city, as you would expect, so to be staying somewhere so peacefully quiet was great. I have no doubt as to where we will stay next time - still plenty to explore in Dublin!

John was an excellent host who went out of his way to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. The house was modernly decorated and just a 15/20 minute walk into the centre of town. We stayed at John's for a long weekend over the St Patrick's day weekend, the central location allowed us to walk in and out of town easily on a weekend where taxis and empty busses were hard to come by. Would highly recommend.

FANTASTIC FEW DAYS. John's home is very comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent with easy access to public transit, an easy walk into the center of town, and a stroll to the local cafe's and stores on Stoneybatter. John was a wondeful host, his communication was punctual and clear and he was very accomodating. His home is a delight, it very comfortable and well stocked (coffee, tea milk, laundry detergent, etc), and it was a joy to spend time relaxing. We had all we needed and it was very helpful to be able to wash our clothes and cook in the well stocked kitchen. THANK YOU! Libby

John was an excellent host and the property was everything we were expecting, and more. John walked us through every detail and kept meticulous notes. There was material on the house, the neighborhood, local shops and restaurants, walking tours, and history of Dublin. He made sure we understood how everything worked and made a point to ask if we had any questions or concerns. Very attentive and responsive. The house was even better than our impressions from the listing. The two bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was top notch. The kitchen was modern and well kept and John even provided us with a few items for breakfast and coffee. Everything we were trying to get to was in walking range, and the neighborhood itself was a pleasant surprise. It was very quiet and safe, and then just steps away there were shops and pubs and everything else you might need. Overall, we loved this place and highly recommend it for anyone staying in Dublin that is interested in having a quiet home in a quiet neighborhood that's just a short walk to the city center.

John User ProfileJohn is a superhost.

My name's John. I'm Irish, and though I am from "down the country" I have lived in this neighbourhood for almost 20 years and know it as well as anyone can. It's such a friendly and authentic area, with a great mix of people: Some new, others whose families have been here for generations.
I love travelling in Ireland and Europe and my big passions are history and the outdoors. Regular hillwalking keeps me fit and is great for catching up with friends! I am a very social person, and having had so many great Airbnb experiences as a guest over the years, I'm now really happy to be hosting guests myself and introducing them to Dublin.

I'm looking forward to welcoming you to Stoneybatter in Dublin!
