The space

Completely renovated for my parent's retirement, the house is situated on three levels. Sleeping for 8 in beds ( possibility of sleeping 12 in sofabeds). Two full bathrooms, an oversized great room. A modern kitchen decked out with large dining table. Of course complete with dishwasher, washing machine and TV to catch all the soccer games. This medieval stone and brick house in the CENTRO STORICO steps away from the main square. With IL FORTE looming on top, there are many things to do in the famous GAVI wine district. 90 KM's from Milano and 60KM's from Genova. Close to the Mc Arthur Glen OUTLET in Serravalle. Easy access to the Cinque Terre and more. Weekly summer town fairs to explore the local cuisine and dance in the open air centres.

Guest access

You will have the WHOLE HOUSE to yourselves and access to bicycles in the cellar. Just let us know and we ill have the tires pumped for you. Handy free parking in the square only 50 metres away (except Sundays MARKET DAY). Use of the washing the machine included and COMPLEMENTARY welcome WINE.

Interaction with guests

I live in Canada but our family home in Gavi is well looked after by our cousin's (in the courtyard next door) Liana & Michi cell: their English is little rusty but work well with hand gestures. Michi is well versed in all the functioning parts of the place: so if something isn't working he knows what to do or who to call.
My best friend is my house manager and just lives down the street: Vittoria Mattiuzzo cell: again rusty english but also well versed in the bedroom/bedding arrangements . GOOD ENGLISH speaking is Paolo Giacobbe (lives in NOVI) 7km away but very helpful and flexible with his time > all numbers may need to EXCLUDE the first '0' if you are calling with local phone plan.

The neighbourhood

We have a bunch of DAYTRIPS laid out on our website:
> please enjoy the read and partake in some of these adventures.

Getting around

Parking: Sunday is market day so you can park in the square until 12 midnight but must move your car before dawn otherwise it is a 178 EURO, towing fee. You can park in the part of the square and anywhere there is WHITE LINES for free. If you see BLUE LINES you will likely have a parking ticket dispenser near by. DO NOT park by any YELLOW LINES as that is not allowed and you can be fined or towed (even if you see some Italian cars parked there). The best train station for connections to Genova or Milano is ARQUATA SCRIVIA
this is just 5 km's away and there is a bus system that connects to most of the main train times: they are in the main square and you can just ask the driver or look on the bus for the rolling directions. There is also taxi services if needed.

Other things to note

The house is close to everything and especially the main square: You can smell the bakery's bread in the morning, you can walk everywhere for your groceries , deli needs and wine selections. If there is something going on in the main square please JOIN THE FUN! You will hear the action anyways from the house and be missing out on the festivities!

Ivana lives overseas but has a team of local people that help things run smoothly. We were welcomed nicely and shown where all the necessities were, as well as the home of her aunt should a need arise. Her English speaking friend was particularly helpful.

Accoglienza perfetta: è stata aperta la casa apposta per noi per il primo pernottamento stagionale e abbiamo trovato una situazione pulita e organizzata. Precisione negli orari di consegna delle chiavi. Molto bene!!!
