This sweet little modern log cabin is just a short distance from the shores of Second Lake in Willow River, MN! Second Lake Hideaway is located 2 miles off of Interstate I-35! 100 miles North of the Twin cities and 50 miles South of Duluth.
Second Lake is a 44 acre Private (no public access), serene, quiet lake with a spectacular view from anywhere on the lake. Fishing is typically VERY GOOD... Although, the harsh winter of 2013/2014 was hard on the fish supply. It is improving, but not quite as it was.
The cabin presents 2 bedrooms and a futon in the living room, full kitchen (sorry, no dishwasher) and full bath. Extras include free onsite washer and dryer, cable TV, and wireless internet! Enjoy a spacious camp fire area for those chilly, Minnesota nights, and our outdoor HOT TUB for the even chillier ones! Lake view visible from cabin. We DO NOT offer a swimming beach. A short 2 min walk to access to water and canoe, paddle boat, and row boat. There is no cost to use them. Sorry- we cannot allow pets.

Willow River and surrounding area is perfect any of your past time adventures! Something for all seasons… Lake fishing, river fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, canoeing, running, roller blading, sno boarding, Antique’rs!, walking, bird watching, small game hunting, rifle hunting, bow hunting, muzzle hunting, spear fishing, cross country sking, ice fishing, biking, camp fire, downhill sking (two large ski resorts within an hour’s drive) and many miles of four wheel trails. Maps available at cabin.
This is a very quiet neighborhood. It is not a party spot. Please be respectful of those who live near the cabin.
Second Lake Hideaway
1.Minimum stay – 2 night minimum
2.Rates – $130 per night weekdays SU-TH $ 150 per night FR & SA
3.Deposit 1 night, full payment
2 or more nights – Balance is due at time of reservation and may be paid with credit card or cash.
Reservation of 7+ nights require full payment 15 days prior to arrival.
Damage/missing property Cabin guests acknowledge and understands that he/she is financially responsible for any and all missing or damaged property that may occur during the stated rental period which can reasonably be attributed to the rental party’s negligence or abuse.
A security/damage deposit will not be required at time of reservation. 5.Cancellation – 21 days or more= $50 cancellation/ charge fee. 20 days or less = forfeit deposit. With exception noted above, full balance is due at check-in. You are responsible for the entire length of your stay. Refunds cannot be given for late arrivals or early departures. (Sorry, no exceptions are made as we remove the cabin from the availability list at the time that your reservation is made).
6.Check-in and out- Check in 3 pm (may be earlier if cabin can be guest ready – call ahead Check out 11 am.
7.Pets- We cannot allow pets in our cabin.
8.Smoking- No smoking inside the cabin. Smoking is allowed in any outside area. To avoid extra charges, please do not discard cigarette butts except by dowsing and proper disposal. Evidence of smoking or open flame inside the cabin (including candles) or any open flame outside (other than the proper use of barbecues or camp fire may result in immediate eviction without refund and/or will incur an extra charge of $350 plus additional charges due to fire or smoke.
9.Occupancy –Sleeps 4-5. Two bedrooms, one with queen and one with full size bed. The living room features a futon which will sleep two children or one adult.
It is our intent to provide you with a rental cabin that is clean, furnished and in good repair. Any missing or broken items should be reported to us as soon as possible. The cleaning fee is included in the daily rate. At time of check out, you are asked to leave the cabin as you found it. Please place all towels, sheets and pillow cases in basket near the washer and dryer. You are not asked to launder linens. Please wash and put away dirty dishes, pots and pans, etc. Please make sure all food is removed. Trash needs to be bagged, removed from the cabin and placed in receptacle outside. The cabin will be inspected shortly after you depart. Depending on the condition of the unit, please know that you we may charge your credit card or for the cost of missing or broken items or permanently soiled or damaged linens. We do not provide linen service or housekeeping service during your stay. You will have access to a washer and dryer at the cabin if you have the need to launder during your stay. We will supply a moderate amount of laundry soap as well as dish soap. Please note that the cabin does not have a dishwasher.
11.Spa – Our cabin does have a hot tub. It holds 2 - 3 people max. We may need to service the hot tub during your stay, or we may leave hot tub treatment with instructions on when to add it to the tub. No food is allowed in hot tub. Please be very mindful of beverages while inside the tub. Please be mindful when smoking in the hot tub. Cigarette butts should be disposed of properly - not in the hot tub. Entering the tub with lotions, colognes, body spays etc. not good for the tub. Hair should be tied back, please. Please note that the State of Minnesota Department of Health states the following Pregnant women, small children, or persons with heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or low blood pressure should not enter the spa except under advice of a physician.
Avoid use while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Exposure may result in nausea, dizziness, or fainting. Observe a reasonable time limit. If you are sensitive to any chemicals used for spa maintenance, we recommend taking extreme care in using any spa. A spa is not a pool. Any excessive splashing that caused electrical components to be damaged or waterlogged or spills excessive water may result in extra charges. Do not use glass containers around the spa. Replace cover immediately after using. We are not responsible for any health and safety issues regarding usage of spas when said usage is in violation of the above recommendations.

As a condition of your received lodging, you agree to hold facility owners, management, employees and third party property owners harmless from any and all claims, including bodily injury, property damage or any other loss. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
