A secluded feeling and private setting on one acre, only approx. 15 min to St. George and 75 min to Zion. Experienced hikers can hit the trail right through the backyard and trek 6 miles into stunning Snow Canyon Park (or drive to the many trail heads minutes away.) Back home you will revel in comfort, ambiance, luxurious touches and multiple gathering places. This house is ideal for families, couples, solo adventurers, business travelers and furry friends (on approval.)
It's difficult to know how to describe it when you find a space/location that simply has a great "energy" and feeling, but you know this immediately upon entering our house. Previous owners built it custom with great care in the details and a love and respect for the gorgeous high desert surround, which you experience through its large windows. The house is extremely well insulated and that, along with the fact that we are about 12 miles north from St George, result in a 10 degree cooler difference during the hot months. Even the drive from St. George to the house is quite spectacular, and it doesn't hurt any that it is on a low use highway on which you clip along at 65 mph!
Lastly: my penchant for design and details will, hopefully, delight your senses! I believe in surrounding myself with beautiful hand-made objects, made by regional artists, and for this reason I decorated with as much original art as I could. No generic hotel type prints here :-)
The whole house and a 2 car garage.
Interaction with guests
I'm an attentive cyber-host, if that's not an oxymoron! Basically, I'm accessible but not intrusive. Also, I have a great local support team if something needs to be addressed during your stay.

Five things I don't wish to live without: music, books, art, theatre and really, really great food.
Five places I'd go back to in a heartbeat: Oaxaca, Mexico, a beautiful tranquil beach most anywhere in the world, southwest Utah, Tucson, Arizona, Manhattan.
About my listing in Walla Walla: I fell in love with Walla Walla while living there following my graduation from Whitman College. I was an 'older student' and moved there with my 12 year old son. It proved to be an idyllic setting for us. If Norman Rockwell had drawn a portrait of a young single mother/student with her boy, we might have been it! I worked, while a student, as a bilingual interpreter for a family planning clinic and also Child Protective Services. After graduating, I became the Teen Outreach Educator for Planned Parenthood and continued working for CPS, as a social worker. I loved my jobs and co-workers! I also volunteered for the City of Walla Walla on a Hispanic Advisory Committee and for the United Way. There was much good work to be done in Walla Walla and I loved this little town...BUT, it was tough to be single here and so I said to myself: get thee to a big city! (And to Seattle I went.) BUT... I never forgot the good feelings engendered by this “land of many waters” and so when I had the opportunity to do so, I purchased a property. I dreamed of having it be my vacation home, but the timing was wrong and so it became a month to month rental instead Now, after many years, my dream has true and me and my family have a lovely place to land for weekend getaways. AND I get to share the place with you and do my best as the owner/property manager to give you the best experience you've had in a vacation rental. I truly intend to master the ART of the vacation rental!
